  1. I would assume it was 'a sprat to catch a mackerel' deal. We all know Juventus wouldn't fork out €40-50M to buy him outright, but if have the upper hand, hopefully we can get this Matthias Soule (sp) as part of a payment?
  2. What a great piece of film, and how wonderful he is using his time and resources in such a positive way. Life after football, when the bright lights go out, has seen many ex-footballers struggle to find a purpose in life. Yet here Pedro Pele and his wife are using their time so well. And still in the Southampton area. That Theo looks a player too. Would hope the club see him as part of the scholars soon.
  3. A warning as to what can happen if you don't go to win it provided by Ipswich and Leeds this afternoon. It's a dilemma - do we play first team and go out to win it? Or hold back, rest the luminaries and accept the consequences? Based on results today and the next round draw, I would probably play full strength, try to get 3 up and then rest players. But the decision will have been taken already, the players chosen and notified.
  4. We should be 3-0 up and out of sight. Do we get pleasure in keeping the game open for the opposition to score? Unless we get the second soon, we run the risk of conceding and losing confidence.
  5. And this guy plays both sides. When he plays, that is. Hasn't been played by his club this season so far, hence contract terminated. As a free agent, we could bring him in right now. But with talk of Ben Johnson as well, who stays, who goes. Wouldn't want KWP to go. We would have to give this some game time as well. Southampton Keen To Secure Signing Of £650K-Rated Star - The Real EFL According to TeamTalk, the club on the south coast are set to battle it out with promotion rivals Middlesbrough as well as Stoke City and Preston North End for free agent Matthew Sorinola over the coming weeks, who is currently valued at £650k, as per Transfermarkt. The former MK Dons youngster most recently spent last season with Martin at Swansea on loan from Belgian title contenders Union Saint-Gilloise but was made redundant upon returning as his contract was not renewed.
  6. Miovski and Amad Diallo please. The latter, we have already received an answer in the affirmative. The former, Aberdeen won't want to let him go.
  7. I believe we have agreement in principle with Man U to bring Amad Diallo in on loan. 14 goals for Sunderland last season when on loan there?
  8. I would have HB as first choice, Stephens and Bedders alternating. But conscious Stephens is our captain, so he may get the nod. Whichever way, just hope those 3 get regular games. As a result, we can probably let the Everton loanee return in January.
  9. Likewise. Bizarre that even when Maddison is out and Bellingham a doubt, he doesn't turn the best English playmaker around. He has proven his versatility with him West Ham performances. This is clearly incompetence from Southgate, or he has an issue with JWP.
  10. He even looks a little like Lavia, so for that reason, its a yes from me. Southampton FC plotting another Man City transfer raid (footballleagueworld.co.uk)
  11. Be even better when we have a regular goal scorer ... oh wait, its Ryan Fraser.
  12. I was hoping to we could give a role to Marian Pahars.
  13. Bazunu KWP Bednarek THB Manning Charles Downes S Armstrong/Amo Alcaraz,/S Armstrong Edozie Adams S.Armstrong plays as he is my Captain. If Alcarez is "trusted" and plays, then Alcy as the 10, Stuart on the right. But if no Alcy, play Stuart as the #10 and Amo on the right, Edozie can take the corners, minimum 4 back even for our own corners.
  14. I'd probably hang fire until we get Stephens back and Ross Stewart integrated. If results are no better then, then they never willbe. Constantly blaming the events of last season making the players lack courage - that irks me. We are not asking them to walk on firey coals, but be able to play decent football. It's the manager and coaches responsibility to get them playing to their potential, and they are failing to do that. Once the best team is available, the judgement starts.
  15. Press Conference: His hair looks nicer, softer "Kamaldeen appeal successful" "We're trying to build here, we need foundations" "We are consistent, but social media is crazy" "trust the process, it will get better, the Swansea lads will confirm that" "i'm relaxed, we will win more games than we won't" "we have to go through pain to get to where we want to get to" "Gav's brilliant, we made a montage of his saves and distribution" "I'm looking forward to tomorrow, I'm happy with the work we have done this week"
