  1. Dragan having a big say in Jones and trying to stick up for him. He does admit his press conferences didn't help the situation, but I do struggle to understand what on earth they saw in him via an interview which would have suggested he could handle the pressure he was about to endure. It Nathan Jones and Ruben Selles is their track record in employment and examples of how the get the right people for jobs, how are they even a little bit successful and we are probably doomed. Hubris, there was a lot of disguised hubris in that interview.
  2. Not only that but it is a genuine football data sheet that found on the t'Internet.
  3. That's dark navy blue shorts and trim on the home shirt too.
  4. I never got an e-mail so it won't be mine - that is solid and reliable in-the-know information.
  5. But do you have to leave your wife and kids every weekend to watch that tripe? If we had been making up these quotes it would be quite right to call us knobheads but even if paraphrased somewhat they are amazingly things that have been said by head-honchoes at Southampton FC.😶
  6. Players? I think that might be the boardroom and owners (football geniuses) too. Don't forget they don't worry about league positions.
  7. When the comments first came out I didn't post anything [i have enough annoying opinions without airing more] but I honestly thought at the time people weren't reading what was said. He did said 'aren't ready yet' that isn't 'total crap will never play in the first team' and he said 'some may be some never' or words to that effect. Well surely that is every youth team in the professional league? If you get one or two per crop you're doing very well. I believe what he said to in the recent interview a negative slant was added to make it more newsworthy. PS: I popped on Ugly Inside [i know it is one of the dank heck-holes of the Internet] and one poster claims two signings are coming in soon. More than likely forum bullshine but there you go.
  8. Only for the time being, wait until you get the ransom demand, "Give us £2k or we'll return your season tickets".
  9. It was 1-1 at half-time against Chelsea, I think MK Dons in League One was the last time we trailed at half-time [0-1] and won [3-2], the best we can hope for is a draw.
  10. Sorry chaps but am I being utterly thick here? The Clyne tweet says 'My England team-mate'. They both play in the England team. If he meant Liverpool he would have said my 'Liverpool team-mate' or 'My new team-mate'....perhaps it's just me? I still think he'll leave mind you, I just don't see what everyone else is seeing.
  11. It was 1976, Aston Villa 5 Liverpool 1 and that was the halftime score. I don't know whether it makes me weird and old but I can remember the game. I found a link for it. http://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/great-games-aston-villa-5-181147
  12. My injuries at local level football include - broken nose (accidental), several broken figures but worst of all a smashed arm done deliberately as I came to the edge of the area to collect a through ball. The player laughed, the referee gave nothing and I played on and tried to drive to the Refinery the next day for work but had to turn around and go to the doctors. I was nine weeks in plaster - the referee saw me ata cup final a few weeks later and said 'oh you did break your arm then'. I walked away. Oh and I was punched hard in the face twice by the same player at the same corner for previous beating his team mate to a bouncing ball and punching it away, no heavy contact or anything, just apparently for stopping him scoring. As kids we were threatened to be knifed after the match during a game because we were better than them and came back from 4-1 down - at the time we thought it was genuine too. I've been booked twice for politely questioning the position of a free-kick and about a violent player who was kicking everyone in the air and whether he should be dealt with.
  13. I was going to bring up the Saints vs Liverpool League Cup semi-final myself. As a rider to this story though, the spitting came about because every time the Liverpool players trotted into the penalty box for a corner they gobbed on Shilton. Everyone at the Archer's End (I think) could see it but the referee choose to ignore it because he'd have to send off about five Liverpool 'stars' for starters.
  14. Beefy on 'Not606 Southampton' forum, who is usually fairly reliable, says there is a forward who has been offered a deal and it's a case of waiting for a reply and seeing if a deal can be thrashed out. To be fair he says he is not allowed to say anything else and he hasn't been told about any other business but his 'informant' (who apparently is someone else on that forum's informant so his reports are normally verfied). He was told that the club's priorities and view-points on transfers in and out can change from day-to-day depending on circumstances. That's all I've heard from what I have seen as 'reliable' sources but I know nothing myself!
