Took my lad from age 6 to mostly away games as we live up north. Secret for me was a bag of chewy sweets for first half and another bag the second. He enjoyed watching the crowd mostly and can remember an inflatable Spiderman with a Saints shirt on it at Blackburn. Most games he would say to me "That man said the 'S' word", "That man said the 'F' word" and "That man said the 'F' and the 'S' word!". He's 22 now and living in Oz and gutted that he's missed SKD10. So *pats myself on the back* I did good.
There's also the small matter of the Merseyside derby after us on Wed 20th Apr and before their FA Cup match with either the Hammers or Man U. If there was ever a good time to play them then this is it. Hopefully driving my two Everton season ticket holding step-sons home post match will be a smug affair...for me!
Great read as usual. However near the end Juanmi hit a sweet volley which was heading in (I was right behind it) when a Sunderland boot nicked it past the post with the keeper rooted to the spot. Needless to say the ref gave a goal kick!
My boss, who is a Rochdale fan, said Seager was causing them all sorts of problems with his pace. He said he looked head and shoulders better than anyone else on the pitch and said that explains a lot when I said Ryan was on loan from us.
Try Walton Lifestyles Sports Centre (L4 9XP) where you can park for £5........well it was that last year. I've parked there a few times and its okay but a bit odd as you have to park, then walk up to the leisure centre to get a ticket then back to your car to display ticket. The leisure centre is about a ten minute walk from the ground. Can be a bit tricky getting out as they cram them in. Family day out for me. Going with my Saints supporting son and taking my two Everton (season ticket holders) supporting step-sons. Need to win after their gloating last season.
Had hoped this transfer was just waiting on clearance before being announced and the lad had been training with us all week (so far)......but it looks like that's not happening.
According to Simon Burwood on twitter (@SiCamHd) a SSN cameraman Morgan has just left the training ground. Says he must've got there very early as he didn't see him arrive.
