  1. Biggest taking from that game is that we don't want to be playing Norwich in the playoffs. Ipswich still top but all of a sudden looking doubtful for the top 2, crazy league
  2. yeah you're probably right. Reminds me of last season in our final 10 games 'if we just win our next two' every week when we were incapable of winning a single game.
  3. We need quite a lot of results to go for us, such as Leicester today and they are now winning. We would need to win 4-5 on the bounce just to apply some pressure, I don't want to give up hope just yet but it could well be over at the end of play tonight.
  4. If we were to beat Ipswich on Monday, then we will have gained ground on at least 2 of the top 3 over the easter fixtures, albeit maybe only a point. So not sure how today's result completely rules us out of the automatics. It was always the case we'd need to win at the top 3, those games are far more valuable than against the others. I'm sure if we'd have won today and drew at Ipswich it would be seen as a good return. It's very fine margins though; lose on Monday and that's absolutely it. Fairplay to Ipswich though they are relentless.
  5. what fixture list are you looking at? 4 of our next 6 are at home. Surely you can't be expecting them to drop points at home to Sheffield Wednesday? We're going to have to win there whatever happens in order to get a points swing on them. Same with Leeds and Leicester. We just have to keep winning, one slip up and it could all be over but equally, we could be right in the mix still in 3 weeks time
  6. crazy schedule now for April. Imagine if a team like Liverpool got given this for a PL run in, you'd never hear the end of it. Too many games now in such a short space of time, especially considering we probably need to win 8 from 10 to have a chance of automatics. Not much we can do now, but will need some perspective if we win a few then get battered 5-0 after some rotation.
  7. very nervous for this one. Despite our incredible run we still need to keep winning as Leeds have a very easy run of fixtures now. Have watched City a few times as local, they are playing better under Manning, but quite honestly no one from their starting 11 gets in ours. But they are hardworking. It is vital we are out the blocks quick like we were at Swansea. I think the run comes to an end Friday but tonight will be a hard fought 2-1 win.
  8. confirmed by Fabrizio as going ahead, loan with buy option. Bit unexpected, he's clearly got potential but I don't think Martin is a huge fan. Whilst he seems popular with fans, he still seems to give the ball away the most. It may seem like a blow at this late stage, but I think we can cope with this.
  9. Martin trying to play it safe, best we can hope for is a draw, sadly. Strange to be seeing all the hate for Smallbone on various social media, when just a few weeks ago most of the fanbase seemed delighted we had not sold him, followed by signing a new contract.
  10. Leicester levels above us. season is over, we will win enough games but promotion is gone, we are so far off
  11. Great start for him, but then we know what he can do having been playing in a terrible team for a few seasons. He can still be a legend at West Ham, all this nonsense about how he should have stayed; seriously, give it up. Good luck to him, move on.
  12. great to just see us playing with a bit if energy. Loved just see Bednarek drive forward then in 2 passes we were in on goal; refreshing to see after several years of slow tempo sideways passing. KWP seems to have checked out already, can see Fulham or similar coming in with a late bid for him. I've changed my opinion on Adams and Tella, we absolutely have to keep them. A nervy couple of weeks now, especially given that we know clubs are making bids on them.
  13. It's getting frustrating and of course the club is working on things, but we are losing time here in sorting out our squad. With the players we have available we are not at the lebel to challenge for automatic promotion, and I'd be surprised if we beat Plymouth tomorrow. There's some huge games in September and we could be playing catch up by then. My understanding is Che to Everton is pretty much a done deal. It's disappointing, but equally he could get goals to get us up but we know he can't quite cut it in the PL.
  14. We need to get a move on in this transfer window. There's potential to challenge, but right now this team is miles off it. We're going to make it really tough for ourselves by not winning any of the next 4-5 games
  15. why would he stay though? He'll still have an eye on the Euros, although it's unlikely. Why do we expect him to stay? the only players who stay at one club forever are the likes of Mark Noble, as no one better actually want them. It's almost as ridiculous as saying Tino should stay because the medical staff looked after him so well so he 'owes us' I'm gutted he's gone, like most of us. It's mainly the young twitter brigade amongst us who cant handle it as they've only been following since 2010. I thought we would let Lavia go, and keep JWP. We just have to trust Wilcox has a plan in place. Give him his emotional farewell speech and free kick reel, then move on
