  1. Oh my you were clearly asleep in your chair when the three goals went in all down our right hand side. You my friend are a wind up merchant, Russel Martin or a fucking clueless idiot, which one is it?
  2. His job was to create a football structure that gets us out of this league and put us on a sustainable footing to be able to survive and thrive when we get there. Here is what we he has achieved in his time here- 1. Failed to recruit a manager that is capable of delivering automatic promotion (IMO of course). Martin allegedly wasnt his first choice so didn’t manage to sell his ideas to his first choice. 2. ignored the need for a striker and sanctioning the purchase of a striker who had 2 serious injuries in the previous 9 months. 3. Wasting £10m on a kid who had barely played any first team football. 4. Implementing a style of football not suited to the league without the required investment in suitable players. 5. failed to address the obvious gaps in the squad in January and then recruiting players not particularly needed. 6. Wasted transfer money in January on players (as good as Brooks is) who weren’t particularly needed. Armstrong played his football as a wide forward this season. Rothwell having nothing when don’t have the ball. So what specifically has he done behind the scenes other than seemingly ignoring the key short term requirements of the job? Clearly long term planning doesn’t include his own integrity as part of his skill set. no it’s not ideal that we are left with out someone with off field planning expertise a month away from the end of the season. The only thing I agree with in your post. I don’t even need to harp on about his finals choice of manager who has built a team that has delivered the same result as every single other team that he has built. Easy on the eye but soft as fucking shyte. If he fails in the playoffs then as predicted next season we will likely see more of the same with worse players as the remaining talent exits the club and the others return to their parent clubs.
  3. I see it’s finally out then. It’s been over a week since it was confirmed strange that it’s finally broken today on our Biggest game of the season. personally I think we are best with him gone and we can come up with a workable plan to get us out of this league
  4. So with Wilcox on his way to United I have to ask the question why do they want him? He sanctioned the signing of a crocked striker and failed to deliver a replacement in January when it was clear that we needed a decent number 9 to push on for auto's. That's a major cock up. He is clearly the man behind the implementation of possession football and is understandably backing Martin to the hilt. Not sure i want to watch another season of painfully slow football with Martin at the helm and slightly lower grade players trying to piss about with the ball at the back. So will the new man back RM next season If we fail to gain promotion?
  5. only poor entertainment if you lose
  6. Exactly this. We have been fucked twice. This season and last! Had we spent the additional £50m on new players (including a striker ) in the summer we have done much better. We also would have had a stronger squad going down if we had been relegated. Either way we were cheated and as such 6 points is hardly an incentive not to cheat
  7. Is Flynn Downes still injured, i don't recall reading anything about why he wasn't in the squad Saturday?
  8. Martin at fault with poor starting lineup. Failed to change it at 1-0. Smallbone can’t play as a CDM receiving the ball facing his own goal. He is unable to turn and his only option is to play backwards putting more pressure on the CB/keeper to beat the press. Leaves the only out as a longer ball. Then leaves the only player capable of holding the ball on the bench to be replaced by lightweight Mara. Add to the mix that Rothwell and Will have zero physical presence in the middle and we have tactical masterclass by Martin. be Braves calls Martin after poor performances. How about he is “Brave” and make the change after 20 minutes when it was clear his plan wasn’t going to work and we would have a chance to stay in the game. Adams and Aribo needed to come on then. It was so fucking obvious. He learnt Nothing from the Bristol game. lets hope Downes stays fit otherwise I fear a play off defeat listening to More shyte about how unnoticed Smallbone’s contributions are and how pleased we are to have Rothwell in the building. Lose the arrogance Martin before you throw all the good work away. Poor team selection and too late responding to the initial mistake. Waiting to half time to make the changes was fucking scandalous. will he learn from his mistakes or will he get lucky with Downes fitness until the end of the season?
  9. I imagine they would if you are prepared to pay a high enough premium.
  10. And he wont have control either just reporting into someone up the chain and following their strategy. People in his position are generally workaholic control freaks and a step backwards in terms of responsibility to work for a bigger club isnt necessarily a great move.
  11. and he would be gone within 12 months
  12. X is full of similar melt. Saw one guy saying they were the form team from October 1st with 1 point ahead of saints failing to point out he hadnt included the games from Saturday because they played Friday night. They seem to be a right arrogant bunch compared to leicester and Ipswich.
  13. Wonder why they fail to mention that they have lost 6 games away from home and factor that in to thier thinking when it comes down to predicting hgow they will perform in their last 8 away games?
  14. Jeez, 3 months of this twoddle in the summer. What an exciting thought. I do find it amusing that a an adult has managed to keep up this charade for so long. Although i did get a leak from on of his members that their esteemed leader is a shoe in for the next series of Undateables which probably explains why he find sit so much fun. Cant give any more details other than that as i dont want to out for COT source. Remember loose lips sink ships!
  15. Exactly this. A player that whilst very talented who likes to run with the ball and take risks with the ball is not going to fit well into a system that absolutely revolves around keeping possession. He gives it away far too often particularly in dangerous areas where we are vulnerable to counter attacks to be a good fit in to our system. Ultimately he may be super talented but we have to back the system implemented or create a systems around his strengths. if we can get good money and replace with a better fit that in my opinion is great management.
