  1. Cardiff should be in the Premier League as it was all messed up the first time
  2. I haven't read what everyone else has posted (I'm a busy man ;-) but an allegation of theft is a serious charge. I would think that dismissing someone for this, without any evidence, is treading on dodgy ground, irrespective of their length of service. ACAS is a great site, set up to help employee's and employer's. I have needed their help on a number of occasions and they have been excellent. http://www.acas.org.uk/index.aspx?articleid=1461.............. Come what may, you still need to challenge this because this store/particular manager could blacken your son's name with other local employers. Don't think that this couldn't happen.
  3. I remember political commentators saying that very same thing before the 2010 election, for the very same reasons. I don't think anyone can be confident in predicting anything concerning politics now. I do think that this is the beginning of the end now though for the UK as we know it
  4. Pearson deliberately tried to humiliate and mock another person in front of his colleagues (junior reporter as well) It was bullying and reprehensible behaviour. The journalist was only legitimately responding to what Pearson had said and didn't deserve that. Pat Murphy gave him a taste of his own medicine and he didn't like it as most bullies don't. Leicester deserve to stay up but I would bet a lot of money that he will be out come the summer. There is something disturbing about this chap
  5. I saw a film the other day called God Bless America. It's a satire on how shallow/rubbish popular culture has become. I also recently read a book called 'Amusing ourselves to death' by Neil Postman (written in 1985 and never out of print) It's about how the news creates news among other things. Very pertinent because since seeing that film and reading that book, the news in the last couple of days has switched from people dying in a plane crash to Jeremy Clarkson being fired and some guy leaving a manufactured 'reality-talent show' band. I'm now being told that Russell Brand is a top, influential 'thinker'......glad i'm slowly detaching myself from it and finding other things to do and learning to see through it all.
  6. Not really because if players knew that the ref was definitely going to add on time, then they wouldn't bother wasting it......would be a pointless exercise
  7. That's the trouble with a lot of British Refs...they try to be pals with the players and that's a mistake. The ref is an authority figure and needs to act like one or he won't be shown the respect he needs to control the game.
  8. Can't even believe that there is any debate on this....Bloody hell, if you're paying some employees millions a year then surely you have a MORAL (it's not a dirty word-honest) to pay other employees the living wage. Don't talk about market value cra* either. We've all seen where blindly relying on the great god of the market has got us in recent years. I'm sure some companies would put their employees market value as 20 pence an hour if they could get away with it
  9. Spitting is filthy but people do seem to get very, very precious about it
  10. Spot on. It drives me nuts. The article below talks about stopping the clock and i think it would work. It would cut out so much of the time wasting that spoils the game http://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2014/mar/11/breaking-the-law-injury-time-referees (average time the ball is in play in a PL game- 56 mins!! Therefore, let's say an average season ticket costs £500...that's £200 spent on watching the players argue with the ref, stand around, fetch the ball e.t.c
  11. Pulis' teams are renowned for it....Watching the game against Everton in one of his first games away for WBA, was painful. Time wasting has become a bug bear for me. ...It has become all too prevelant in the PL in recent years and refs are doing nothing to cut it out. I remember reading about a Stoke game, when Pulis was in charge unsurprisingly, when the ball was hardly in play throughout the 90 mins. I can't remember the figure now but I remember being shocked at the lack of value for money the fans were getting.
  12. I'm surprised that more fuss hasn't been made of this as it has become more prevalent over the last few years. I'm not a Saints fan and didn't see yesterday's game but Pulis' teams have been the worst ones for doing this. His teams, when playing away from home especially, even do it while the game is still scoreless! It is up to the refs to cut this out as you don't see the European refs being so lenient. Players pretending to pull up their socks (though there's no need) at set pieces, straightening up and then pretending to prise out some imaginary mud sticking to their studs. Keepers kicking the ball out from the other side of their line to where the ball has gone out..that rule needs to be changed again. Players kicking the ball away at throw ins (as long as its not too obvious) has become the norm. Players taking an eternity to come off when being subbed....not to mention bringing someone on in the 90th minute. Needs to be tackled if we want to he PL to still be thought of as the most exciting league in the world...if not the best technically. P.S....Phil Dowd is the worst ref for allowing time wasting as I genuinely think he uses it as a chance to have a breather. Baffles me as to the standard of the referring fitness test if he can pass it year after year.

This worryingly crowded isle: England is officially Europe's most densely packed major country England has overtaken the Netherlands and is second only to tiny Malta Over the next 30 years the gap is expected to widen even more Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2530125/This-worryingly-crowded-isle-England-officially-Europes-densely-packed-country.html#ixzz3SzvyILQ1 Follow us: @MailOnline on Twitter | DailyMail on Facebook You might need to revise that line that there are far more densely populated countries than England with a fine infrastructure.
  14. Regarding your games that have been shown on British TV......As a non Saints fan I have been disappointed in your performances. There is a logical explanation though. The vast majority of your televised games have been against the top teams and those games have shown up your limitations. (Not being disrespectful but that's the way I see it)
  15. I always thought 'Black Friday' was the name the Police gave to the last working Friday before Christmas when most people go out to celebrate time off work. This recent phenomenon is a gross American export. Incredibly annoying that we always seem to copy the more vulgar things the USA has to offer.
