  1. That graphic is in formation order, Lyanco at RB and KWP at LB. Looks like a front three of Moi and Edozie either side of Adams.
  2. Most of the one's I've seen have already been mentioned, but don't think Mane's goal lobbing Szczesny in the 2-0 win over Arsenal Jan 2015 has been mentioned yet. Great finish in my opinion. Alex Oxlade Chamberlain's last goal for Saints against Walsall on the final day too from memory was very good.
  3. Issue is with six months left on his contract, what's the point in joining a club in the mix for relegation when he can wait six months, keep scoring goals and then have the pick of clubs at the end of the season with a bigger contract because he's a free transfer.
  4. He did it at Swansea - started off with 4231 until about 40 games into his first season where he switched to 343/352 and kept that until he left.
  5. "Cody Gakpo with the ball under his arm, hat trick in his presumably last game for PSV. Thank you ref. Tour of the Philips Stadium now."
  6. Looks like he prefers Seville over both of those options... 😉 Second that one, what a place.
  7. Only reason I could see for Walcott being given a new deal at the time was he was cover on both wings and upfront, so effectively covered 3 positions for the price of one. Had it been in the position we are now post takeover where money is supposedly more available I wonder if it would have been a different case. Could probably put McCarthy getting a new contract over Forster in the same bracket too.
  8. Agree to a certain point - chucking xg numbers around isn't helpful at all, especially when it comes to isolated games when it doesn't take into account when goals are scored. Naturally a team will face more shots if they've taken the lead early and sat back to play on the break. I do think it has its uses - Brentford basing their recruitment models on it and the success they have had off that proves that. Be interesting to see if Wolves return to the norm next season whether the view on them being good defensively will change. I suspect Tino being out for the rest of the year and Small probably needing a loan to get game time will mean we go for someone who can cover both. Maybe Brandon Williams again if he's available. I'd like Delap from City personally as he's very highly rated, but I don't really see the point of it without an option to buy. You end up in a situation like we have with Broja where if he starts to do well the price goes way above what we could afford.
  9. Goalkeeper by an absolute mile. Look at the difference Jose Sa has made to Wolves. Know people don't like xG, but Wolves outperforming their xG against by 15 goals shows just how big he has been for them. Ranks 4th in the league for number of saves made but the 5th best defensive record too. A proper number one that we can rely on would make such a big difference, as would a good CB. After that it's probably an attacking midfielder to create chances, a striker to take them and then someone to cover at both full back positions. An awful lot to do, really...
  10. Wonder if he might hang on for the summer- West Brom don't have to sort a replacement out in Jan and he'll help them get back into the Premier League, and he can have a higher wage as a free agent. Possibility of West Ham coming in at that point to replace Fabianski if Areola doesn't work out then.
  11. And me. Watched a lot of him during his two loans at Villa. Came in Jan 2017 after six months being in the u23s at Utd and struggled to begin with, made a few mistakes and had a few fans getting on his back. But as he went on really settled and showed just how good he was, a really reliable keeper. I expect Villa would have kept him had they gone up in the playoff final in 2018. Certainly think it's a different case to David Marshall at Cardiff. If we get him in Jan or next summer I'd be delighted.
  12. Think the Athletic were saying Walcott came in on £75k a week- half what he was on at Everton. They also reported JWP on £100k as top earner. Would imagine given average wage in PL now is around £60k that Armstrong is in that ballpark figure, with Perraud and Lyanco on slightly less but not far off. Livramento I guess is slightly more than what you've said given the amount of clubs we were competing with.
  13. Played 36 out of Brest's 38 games in Ligue Un. Which given it's a top six European league in terms of the work permit criteria should mean he should have no problems.
  14. According to Google, a 24 year old Malian CB. 6 caps for them since 2019 so I'm presuming he would get a work permit.

    Danny Ings

Exactly; if he leaves this summer he can still say that he played for his boyhood club, scored twice in a derby win over their biggest rivals and scored 20 goals in the Premier League for Saints. Barring him dragging us to the FA Cup, what more is there realistically to achieve at Saints? He had his chance at an elite club taken away from him because of injuries, and we all know he's good enough to play for any of the big sides. Can't blame him at all if he wants another crack at playing in the Champions League when there were probably moments when he was out injured where he doubted whether he would get back to the level he was at before. He's going to be on an incredible wage if he signs with Saints or not; I truly believe this decision is down to wanting to play at the highest level and because of that can't blame him at all for wanting to do so, especially when he knows he realistically has only a few years left to achieve that.
