  1. Congratulations guys, good luck against FC Midtjylland. I'm sure Southampton will march on
  2. If these 2 blocks get assigned to you your home-end ticket will either be changed for a ticket to that area or they will move you to that place in the stadium. Don't worry about things kicking off, if no one is provoking everything should be fine. Last season it went wrong with Ajax and PSV, at the Ajax game Ajax supporters where showing flags, singing along with the away-end etc. and it ended up in a little clash (which is a shame from both sides, since there are many children on that stand). At the PSV game nothing much happened between supporters, but stewards and police wanted them away to prevent an 'Ajax situation'. The violence from the police wasn't necessary.
  3. During regular Eredivisie games Vitesse offers direct transportation towards GelreDome with public transport services. I got the following from the Vitesse site: Public transport Breng (public transport company) Takes care of transportation around the home matches of Vitesse. This season the season card holders may use, on presentation of their season ticket, free of charge (shuttle) bus on game days. This starts about two hours before the game until two hours after the final whistle. Do you have a day pass? Then you have to pay for the bus fare. Overview shuttles: Between NS Station Arnhem and Gelredome is well ahead of the game and after shuttled back and forth; From Rijkerswoerd departs 80 minutes before the game, the first bus. This then drives every half hour; From Geitenkamp leaves about an hour before the game one bus to Gelredome; From Duiven (neighbourhood Schapenweide) departs from two hours before the match, every fifteen minutes one bus to Gelredome. This bus also stops at the Vergert Laan (Duiven), Duiven railway station, Arnhem, and Westervoort. After the match, you can find the shuttle buses on the forecourt of the Gelredome. Below an overview: Perron A> Station Arnhem. Perron B> reserve platform Perron C> Westervoort & Duiven Perron D> Rijkerswoerd & de Laar Perron E> Velp South (90% Google translate, i hope you understand most of it) I do have to point out this applied to last season. I'm pretty sure this service will be available for this game but I can't promiss it. If there is more information about this I will post it as soon as possible.
  4. I messed up with the time difference (but you didn't miss anything to be fair) About our team (at the moment): It's very hard to tell you something about the team because we have had so many changes last month. Pröpper and Vejinovic have been sold which means our very decent midfield is almost gone and ofcourse Traore who returned to Chelsea and played a huge part in the second half of the season. I think this will be our line-up (and I will provide you with some information): GK: Eloy Room Very decent goalkeeper, easily among the best in the Eredivisie. He used to be on the bench until January this year, but when Velthuizen got injured he took his chance and did really well from then on. LB: Rochdi Achenteh Hands down our worst player. He lacks vision, strength and makes very much crucial errors. I absolutely **** myself when comes up against players like Mane. RCB: Guram Kashia © Great captain and person but he is quite inconsistent. He has a outstanding sliding tackle and is a decent defender overall, unfortunately he is capable of making crucial errors too. LCB: Maikel van der Werff New player coming transfer free from PEC Zwolle. Strong solid defender with a good free kick, can't say much more about him. RB: Kevin Diks Young defender from our youth academy. Decent defender but lacks the attacking abilities, needs to develop himself more. CDM: Sheran Yeini New player, honestly know nothing about him. RCM: Valeri Qazaishvili Valeri is the most underrated player in the team, very good dribbler and has a decent pass and shot. I wouldn't be surprised to see him play at a bigger club next season. LCM: Lewis Baker LW: Nathan ST: Isaiah Brown Three new players from Chelsea, haven't seen much of them either. I guess you guys know as much about them as me RW: Renato Ibarra Very fast and very good at getting opponents booked. He has an awful cross and his shooting is bad too, but with his pace he always creates danger. Many reporters and Dutch footballers claim Vitesse plays the best style of football in the Eredivisie. We are pretty good at combining and like to dominate the game, our downfall is that our defenders push up to the midfield so there is much room behind them. The best way to play against us would be to play counter football. Here is a video of our complete last season: ------------------------------------- About the city: for a drink you should visit 'De Korenmarkt' it's the place where all the clubs etc. are located, personally I like 'Aspen Valley' and 'Freaky Piano Bar' the most. It shouldn't be too hard to find a place to eat at De Korenmarkt. The only good place to stay is 'Van Der Valk hotel' located in Duiven (I live in Duiven too, really easy travelling to Arnhem). If you want to plan your train journey you can use this site: http://www.ns.nl/en/travellers/home I would love to hear if you need more information
  5. Hi guys, I wanted to post this in the European Tour thread but I noticed a three post limit, so I'm sorry for the (kind of) spam. However, I thought you guys might be interested to watch a live game from Vitesse. They play 7:30 PM tonight (UK time). http://www.laola1.tv/en-int/live/sbv-vitesse-caykur-rizespor/361799.html Cheers, Jelle
  6. You could try since there is no registration needed for this match (99% sure) and the match won't sell out, but I don't think they will sell tickets to you if they can see you're an Southampton fan.
  7. Around 25000 including the away section, here are some pictures to give you an idea (last picture is the away section):
  8. Hi guys, I made an account to inform you a bit about us. For the people wondering about the amount of tickets that will be available for you in the Gelredome, I think it will be 1200 since that is our max capacity. Although we don't have a very big chance of winning I'm still excited for these two games. If you need any information about Arnhem or The Netherlands in general feel free to ask! Cheers, Jelle
