  1. Skates play on Saturday so the taxi taking away fans will be long gone by the we time the 4500 travel north
  2. Suits you sir....... can I put you I/C of sorting tickets as will be away when they go on sale
  3. We have been in a relegation battle for weeks, losing points time and time again against poor sides the writing has been on the wall for ages. Lack of ambition 14 years ago cost us the services of WGS when Lowe would not release funds to buy his targets and also RL stalled on offering a new contract to WGS who was ready and willing to sign long term. Lack of ambition will now cost us our PL slot. The list of players sold over the last 2/3 years would cripple any side but when that side fails in any way shape or form to replace those players with ones of equal quality there is only one way to go. We got away with it for the last 18 months and despite Claude Puel's lack of charisma he did a decent job and as we achieved 8th and arguably should have won the cup final but for incompetent officiating (now where have we seen that recently?). As has been documented by many this group of players is not bottom half of the league material meaning there is only one area of the club where the blame lies and that is the management, be it the 1st team manager, the board of directors, the chairman or indeed the owner(s). If those at the top deem this manager to be 'the one' then they need to have a check up from the neck up! Why is it that 28,000 fans in the stadium (there probably some who disagree) can see what is wrong, be it team selection, formation, substitutions, lack of adaptability, lack of reaction to changes by the opposition or just plain incompetence but those watching from the comfy seats can't? I have been going to games for nearly 50 years now and have been a season ticket holder since SMS opened, did not have one before as i was in the RN so could not justify it and today is the first time ever i have actually thought about not going to home game because i just can't be bothered to sit through 90 + mins of unexciting, non-ambitious mediocre football. Come tomorrow however, no doubt i will make the near on 90 mile round trip drive to support my club and the team, i cannot however say i will be supporting the manager or the board. These are sad times in the history of Southampton Football Club and to think not all that long ago we were in the top 4 and people were actually talking about us being in the Champions League. Just think what could have happened if we had ambition, told Spuds to do one when they came calling for MP and we backed a young manager with decent signings, told the bin dippers to do one when they came calling for Lallana, Clyne et al because we had told the players the club matched their ambitions. The PL is arguably the richest in the world now (look at the ridiculous money being banded about for the Sanchez deal). So why are we not at the top table? Because people we have a board who are risk averse and as our chairman stated the other day believe we are 'only a small club'. I say get out of that mentality and we could have been one of the top 6 or 7 clubs in the country, now unfortunately we look like we are heading down again and there is not much light at the end of the tunnel!!!!
  4. Wow, where has that year gone. Went with JBS of this Parrish, his better half and my son. Flew to Geneva, hired a car and off we went down through Mont Blanc tunnel and all. Great couple of days and wonderful to see Saints play in one of most iconic stadiums in the world. Can't wait for next opportunity......
  5. Oh dear what a shame, Everton fans on a par with Wet Spam as the most delusional
  6. I would love to see the following ...............Anyone .........Yoshida VVD Hoedt Cedric Bertrand Lemina Romeu Boufal Long. Gabbi More likely to see the same again as Saturday. Forster Cedric Yoshia VVD Bertrand Lemina Romeu Tadic Long Redmond Gabbi
  7. Exactly, anywhere else on the pitch it is a free kick ergo it was a penalty. Zabaletta knew he was in trouble as he had his hand up appealing for something as soon as the incident happened.
  8. Could not care less. He has made his bed so has to lie in it. He has been badly advised all along on this one, whilst he may have been training he is no where near match fit and will lucky if he plays a first team fixture (whoever that may be for) for at least another 4-5 weeks. In a World Cup year and with crucial qualifiers coming up he really is running out of time
  9. Neymar in Portsmouth as he signs for PSG.
  10. Wishing your Dad a speedy and full recovery. When we arrived at the top of the steps on the concourse we were all told there was a medical emergency, as others have said puts the day into prospective.
  11. If he (or more likely his agent) does not want to be here there as far as I am concerned he can do one. Get the most we can for him from the bin dippers and move on.
  12. Been out all day and just seen the heroic 0-0 scoreline from a probably packed out park against a team playing their cup final with a referee who was overawed with the atmosphere. Apparently and according to the biased BBC Sport website the loyal, beatest fans in the world booed their team off at the end, surely this is not true!
  13. You are right, the was only wearing the shirt and had nothing else to put on. It was one of the funnier moments of what was a very damp night stood in a stand that should have been condemned. Great trip mind, hope next week is as good, just not as wet.
  14. This. We are driving over, should be there about 3pm, check into hotel, find a couple of bars for a few beers and then bimble off to the ground :-)
