Lesson learned . 1 never put Stephens in midfield. Didn't have a clue about tracking the runner. 2 there is no point in having 3 wingers on rhe bench, there are only 2 wings ro play them on. Put Charles there instead , then you can avoid lesson 1. We were poor for the last hour. Need to freshen up a bit for Tuesday. Sa for aribo, rest Brooks. Give edozie or Sulemana a start az Fraser has been poor lately.

Rothwell has had 4 good touches since he joined us. Other than those goals, he has done nothing. He is like Ted Mcdonald, without the offsides. We were very flat until the 2 wingers came on. Like to see them start the next 2 games.

Thought we played very well, should have been out of site again. AA ball watching for there 2nd , and Bazunu should have rolled it out at the end and let us keep possession or score a 20 pass book at the end. Ipswich were very dirty . If they try they try that in the Epl they will have 10 men most games. It is very efficient championship football, but a bit too cynical for me.

I watched Leeds take Ipswich apart at Elland Road, basically by exploiting the space behind the full backs, the left back in particular. We need to be brave and leave Fraser and AA in the wide positions and keep trying balls over the top . Stu Armstrong looks like he needs a rest so swap him for Aribo, and even though Smallbone was poor yesterday he needs to stay in the team as he is very important to the tempo of passing. A bit like Bally in some ways, though not nearly as good . People, myself included, used to moan about Bally's sideways passing but by god we missed him when he retired. There was a lot of poor passing today, Smallbone, Armstrong s , Adams and Brooks in particular. I was a shit Sunday League substitute, but I would back myself to find Fraser in all that space. That last miss by Adams was truly bad. Normally he puts every shot down the middle of the goal. All he had to do was toe poke it on target . I have been resigned to the playoffs since we lost at Bristol, but now the maths are backing it up.

I can remember a great Steve Williams goal against Norwich at the Dell. Keegan passed it square to Williams on the half way line. Williams then slalomed past 5 or 6 of the Norwich team before curling it round the keeper from the inside left position. Keegan joked about it the paper afterwards that, in America that would have been an assist. Personally, I quite like assists, but it is not always a pass that is important, a good diversionary run could be more important.

I think it was too low to head, and slightly to high for the finish he tried. If he had angled his foot so his toes were pointing at the ground it would have flown in.

Played really well. Could have been 1 or 2 up , but then you get scouse luck. Its sport is soon bad , not evening being able to keep record from the lumley save. Keep going Saints and show what you could do if you got promoted

Came on a a sub today after 20 minutes or so. Played quite well, although he had 2 wild shots and a few of his through balls were intercepted. Would have had a tap in last minute winner , but it had already crossed the line. Miles better that Rothwell.

That was Leeds hardest match in the run in . They seem to be getting the rub of the green on their off days. Pinball handball penalty against Preston, win against the run of play tonight. We just need to go for 3 points every game and see where it gets us

They sold their best 2 players in the summer as their contracts were running down . I don't think any of their team would get in our starting 11.
