  1. I saw it in exactly the same way. Reminds me a lot of Schneiderlin. Most of his passes were backwards. No real penetrating passes for me. I think Ralph needs players who move it forward at pace. 8 million. Take it in my view.
  2. I like Cantwell from Norwich. Makes things happen and can take people on.
  3. Went on to the Fishy.co.uk predictor website and did a very quick pass through likely results in the last 7 games and not surprisingly Cardiff do not make it. That's not to say there are no surprise results but even allowing for that it's a big ask for them. Pos Team P GD Pts 1 Man City 38 +74 94 2 Liverpool 38 +66 91 3 Tottenham 38 +34 80 4 Man Utd 38 +26 80 5 Arsenal 38 +29 76 6 Chelsea 38 +27 76 7 Leicester 38 +1 51 8 Wolverhampton 38 -4 51 9 Watford 38 -4 50 10 Everton 38 +5 49 11 West Ham 38 -5 49 12 Bournemouth 38 -15 46 13 Newcastle 38 -12 43 14 Southampton 38 -15 42 15 Crystal Palace 38 -7 41 16 Brighton 38 -14 38 17 Burnley 38 -28 36 18 Cardiff 38 -34 29 19 Fulham 38 -52 25 20 Huddersfield 38 -52 17
  4. I think Crouch pushed him in the back. It's a trick strikers play. The natural instinct when pushed in the back is to raise your arms. At least Crouch didn;t score it. Burnley just went for route one as soon as he came on. Inevitable. BUT I will take a point and if we beat Cardiff then it's been a good run..
  5. Burnley are more route one than any other team I have seen this season. Need to be aware and focused.
  6. People criticised Saints inability to breakdown Palace on Wednesday but looking at the Spurs Newcastle game you could see exactly the same happening. Newcastle had a bank of 5 and 4 and little room to create. In the end patience won the day.
  7. It's now evident why they sacked Les Reed. **** recruitment at the back. Sell VVD and not replace him was a major mistake.
  8. Shambolic defending. Before they scored we seemed in control. What was that all about. Too many defensive errors. Jack Stephens should now be the first choice CB. Changing the back four as he did was a mistake. Lemina was our best player by far today. I always felt nervous about this as his first game in charge. Changing the team and formation I think put pressure on the team. I know we are glad Hughes has gone but maybe a more cautious Hughes would have got a result. But we need to fix the long term so let's get on with it.
  9. The club management should take a long hard look at themselves and do something to change things. It's not working. I am not sure it's the players. Give it to 10 games and see where we are. Again the stats show we had more shots and for periods of the game we controlled it but we have few game changers like Mane, Lallana and boy do we miss Pelle..
  10. Just remember Harry Kane in his early days. Quote "It looked like Kane would never make it at Tottenham, having been sent out on loan spells to Leyton Orient, Millwall, Norwich and Leicester."
  11. That looked like a Tony Pulis team.
  12. I still feel that despite the disappointment of yesterday we would have needed a win on Tuesday to all but guarantee safety. I would bet that Huddersfield could get a draw at home to Arsenal who have nothing to play for. So in a way nothing changes.
  13. I sort of agree. We will need to be more positive and go for it. A win tonight would have made us more cautious and likely go for a draw which can be dangerous. Of course we are all assuming we get nothing against MC and I am sure we can't get a result if we play the way we have been over the last few games.
  14. If we had won the danger would have been to go to Swansea with a mentaility that a draw is enough and get beaten. We now know that a win will keep us up. Change in psychology is not so bad. We are playing well and are on a mini run. Just have to keep it going.
