  1. This season - Two 5-0 thrashings. Conceded 2 or more goals in 17 matches. Conceded over 60 goals, amongst the worst in the Top half of the Championship. Scored 85 goals, up there with the Top 4 - that's why we're up there, because of how many we've scored. Definitely a positive. Why we've not got 'there' is because of how many we concede. It's been pretty consistent to be fair, I can't see how we can win the playoffs with a defensive record like us. Martins teams concede in excess of 60 goals every season. It's a massive flaw in his approach and he doesn't learn and will not learn, he believes this is the way and he will still be trying to do this when Worthing FC sign him up in a couple of years. I don't disagree with passing football, but there's more to football than passing the ball (it's the very basis of the sport to be fair). You've got to be organised, you've got to track your runners, you've got to cover for team mates who bomb on, you can't leave huge gaps between the lines etc etc. I think the bloke is deluded, it's propaganda football, Man City-lite with players from Lidil.
  2. I think the poster boy will be Smallbone, as he's the academy kid. The potential team for next season does send shivers down my spine though.
  3. I think we can almost guarantee that Jack is now a mainstay for all of our remaining games, barring injury. How he shoehorns him in is the question.
  4. Absolutley, they all know we'll give them a chance. We are the perfect team for a Norwich or WBA to play, they'll be underdogs in a sense but we'll give them all the encouragement.
  5. He is the sort of player who thrives in quick, 1 touch, tight spaces etc. He's not quick through pace, but he's a clever footballer - but by us slowing the game down so fucking much we don't get the best out of him, and it makes him look so languid like you say. It has taken some real skill to have made a player like Brooks like as bad as he has.
  6. We had Fraser sat on the bench who is capable of that, so is Edozie and Brooks (as Brooks has shown), but they are coached to within an inch of their life to just pass the ball backwards without any urgency. It's no coincidence to me how much Brooks has gone into his shell, at Bournemouth (as recently as their FA Cup game) he was positive, quick, direct - but now, with us, he's the opposite of all of that. We've overcoached him.
  7. He did say that, and also that we were really, really good for most of that game. Nonsense.
  8. Are you deaf? Why are you purposely ignoring what is in front of you? He said, and I quote, ''I was really, really pleased with most of that game'' ''The first half was a really high level'' - what is he on about?
  9. No, just full of fans who can see the facts in front of them.
  10. Not sure what the point of that is, stupid waste of money. We'll keep Martin and see what happens - but I think there will be a parting in the summer, not sure how he survives.
  11. That interview has worried the fuck out of me. That's a manager who is not seeing the same game as the fans and when that happens...there is only one result.
  12. Martin thought we were really good for most of that game. Quote that, he's just said it. He's clueless and deluded. He's lost his mind.
  13. I think there is an element of that, but also....look at the teams we faced. We got into a run of momentum by playing Blackburn, Swansea, Wednesday etc at their worst. As soon as we started facing the better sides again it all went to shit - Hull, Ipswich, Leicester etc. Flat-track bullies is seemingly what we are.
  14. You're on your own here I think. I'd trade the amount of goals we've scored to have conceded less. To let in over 60 goals and be a promotion candidate does not compute, it's not compatible.
  15. Might as well try and sum up what we just watched. First half was horrific, terrible. We didn't lay a glove on them, way too passive, way too slow, whenever we got the ball we had no answer to their press, we panicked and gave the ball away. It was a non-event. Second half - congrats on the amazing 30 seconds at the start of the second half, they should get a trophy for that I guess. But other than that it was same old. We became passive again, too slow, didn't attack with any purpose - but the defending was on another level. It seems unfair to pin it all on Manning, but we conceded 4 goals on his side as soon as he came on. He was standing off Fatawu like he was allergic to him, Aribo didn't do himself any favours either as he just ponced around and didn't get tight to him. It was a general shit show. There was nothing positive about it at all. The fact we came out with the most possession should tell you all you need to know, it's propaganda nonsense. If you press us and rush us we will crumble. We concede too many goals to be a valid promotion candidate and I include the playoffs in that. I should be looking forward to the playoffs I guess, but I genuinely can't be arsed.
