This is how I feel. I’ve just moved to China to teach having spent 14 days in one room quarantine. Le Tiss was my hero as a 10 year old kid and all the way through secondary school. Unfollowed him two weeks ago and now I’ve just heard about this today. Gutted but not surprised. Tiss likes to stick to his guns and antagonise but isn’t as bright as he thinks.
I’ve said it before here, but I lost my dad who was in his 60s to covid in March. Totally unexpected and I’ve seen what a brutal disease it is. No goodbyes possible.
The polarised nation is depressing and the free speech argument doesn’t mean bollocks should get equal credibility. What happened to evaluating evidence and being scientific? China are over covid (as it stands) as everyone takes it seriously. Only cases are imported and found at the isolation stage.
The nonsense that Tiss and others spout play down the seriousness of covid meaning the prospect of getting rid of it for good are reduced.
Please wear a mask, quarantine if you need to and respect those who grieve for those previously lost to covid and prevent unnecessary deaths in the future. Don’t you think it’s pathetic that this is a thing we have to talk about. God, I miss the simple and fun days of the 90s. Maybe my age.
