  1. High points for me Waking up with the knowledge that we still existed and I would have a team to support next season. JPT Final, one year later. This proved the catalyst for all that has happened since. The style of football we play. Getting back to the Premier League. The continued success of the academy. It has produced brilliant players before Walcott and Bale. Working in Portsmouth and enjoying the silence!!!! 4 players in the England squad Low points. Every time there is a forced change and someone leaves. The unknown is always daunting yet here we are with our best ever season in PL. The press, both the Newspaper lies and made up stories and the TV not reflecting how the game really was because we are not one of the Golden teams.
  2. Ban not enough in my opinion. I remember the year we were relegated David Prutton laid a hand on a Referee and got a 10 match(!) ban. Yet a Manager Head Butts a Player and gets a 7 match ban.
  3. Thank you for having the vision and the drive to take us from the edge of extinction to the envy of others. I've enjoyed the ride. What I don't understand is where the alternative owners you had lined up if the current ones wanted to sell are. Isn't this that moment
  4. This is on the Barcelona official web page. http://www.fcbarcelona.com/football/formative/detail/article/barca-philosophy-in-england
  5. If true we are spending £21m today. £12m Ramirez £6m Phillips £3m Buttner and CBs still to come?
  6. We were always complaining about Lowe being too involved and needing to back off. Now we have some one who works in the back ground and only says things when they need to be said. We got what we wanted. Long may it continue. It's seems to be working to me.
  7. if Diouf was that good how come he didn't know that you have to take a throw in form on/behind the touch line. I thought their right back was a complete liability, especially enjoyed Lallana leaving him on his backside in the first half. Was amazed when I realised it was chimbonda
  8. This is great news, I hope he makes a full recovery. Keeping praying for him
  9. Niemi in the oppositions box for a corner. Controls the ball with his chest and volleys just over the bar - Class Or Kevin Keegan bicycle kick from the edge of the box and scores. Only for the goal to be ruled out for off side - If my memory is right.
  10. I have just come on to the forum to read the latest news and was confronted with the advertising banner at the top of the page selling Man United VIP tickets stating they are the best tickets in town. Now I know you may not have much to do with this but it doesn't look good when the No1 Saints Forum is pushing Man Utd tickets.
  11. I think it could be ourselves!!! Team has to be focused for every game and not listen to any hype.
  12. Some great saints stats from the official league one page: http://www.football-league.co.uk/features/20110517/npower-league-1-in-numbers_2293307_2361567 These include 24 - Southampton were the unluckiest side in league 1, hitting the woodwork ore that anyone else 83 - Rickie Lambert lead the individual shooting stats, for the second season in a row. He had the most shots on target 83, and the most off target 58 351 - Southampton topped the shooting stats with the most shots on and off target. They were on target 351 times and off it 293.
  13. The moment the Steward, who had run on to the Pitch on Saturday after the fan, realised the game was heading towards him and he froze in sheer panic not knowing where to go - priceless.
  14. Thank you Mr Cortese for finding us and recommending Southampton to Markus Liebherr Thank You Markus for putting your money into the club. Thank you Liebherr Family for continuing to believe Thank you Nicola for being strong and clear in your vision. Thank you Nigel Adkins, the players and all the staff at Southampton FC As good as this is it is only the first step!!!! Keep the focus
  15. Can any one confirm that in a interview or Season Ticket lunch Nicola Cortese stated that Ricky Lambert had returned to pre season training in really good shape and wanted to score 40 goals this year but that Pardew had over trained the squad when in Switzerland against the advice of the fitness experts!! Ricky returned form the trip with several injuries which he was having to manage through the first part of the season.
