  1. I have to agree. Recruitment has been absolutely diabolical. We have turned into one of those clubs who seems to buy random players without any consideration of how they will suit a system. For years we had a system and bought players to fit the system - it worked well and occasionally we were surprised by how well this worked (ie. not many people thought Bertrand would do as well for us as he did, but he was exactly what we needed). We scoffed at other clubs who collected players like they were opening panini packs. Specifically on Armstrong - it annoys me how weak his legs are. I want a striker who's strong enough to rifle shots in, not dribble them into the keepers arms each time. It's like watching a kid play.
  2. In the same way people thought Boris coming back as PM would be a good idea after Liz Truss.
  3. Disappointed he didn't get a game when he's been running rings around our defenders in training. Could have made a real splash for himself if he was given the chance.
  4. This whole shambles reminds me of when Liz Truss was Prime Minister.
  5. He will be gone soon. With the state of the squad it'll be an uphill struggle to stay up but worth a go. The club and squad don't even have faith in Jones' ability to manage us in the Championship, which was a factor in Jones joining us in the first place.
  6. Sian is the best lino in the game for me. Cracking eye for the line. Shame she's on VAR duty, FFS.
  7. For me this was the lowest point in our recent history since Koeman left. It was so embarrassing.
  8. Mate, we would be doing the same but from slightly further back due to the layout of our ground. You can't blame their fans for trying to intimidate us.
  9. Scored against the skates and for that reason alone will always be alright with me, unless he ever joins them but fat chance of that. He's a good player. I enjoy watching him.
  10. She was a brilliant player. By far the best female English footballer at that time.
  11. Hey Dalek. I think he just got found out. Once his weaknesses were exposed, they were seized upon.
  12. A lot of very good teams are after Tadic. I hope we do manage to keep him.
  13. Hughes is a good fit for Saints. Sign him up 100%. It's not all about who looks good on paper or who the next best young manager with a Spanish accent may be. Hughes inherited a team bereft of confidence, lacking style and unable to score goals. Under Hughes we have competed with Arsenal, Chelsea and Man City, we have scored goals, the football is more exciting, the players look like they are playing as a team and (here is the clincher) we managed to hold on to a lead in vital games against Bournemouth and Swansea. I was unimpressed when news broke that he was joining. I then thought, well give the man a chance. Now, I really do think he will be good for us and we will be good for him. Get his contract signed quick so that we can get on with the rebuild.
