  1. My local team and I have a season ticket - I guess I enjoyed the cup game more…. Let me know if heading to ACM again and I will do likewise heading to Belém 👍
  2. I had to get the next verse…. 6 assists
  3. One player I actually know. Was pretty good at Estoril last year, few tricks, fairly quick and contributed well. Estoril fans wanted him back. Feels like he needs a breakout season which is why he is off on loan - maybe worth a punt as a loan with option. He seems to have enough to make a step up (quite a strong player for a winger) but I don’t think his level last year would be enough.
  4. A shame as not only one of the few who seemed to care (thought he was quite emotional celebrating the “goal” last week) but also the only forward to was making runs and stretching the opposition as any premier league forward should. I assume he has an offer to either stay in the PL or go overseas rather than stay and maybe take a coaching path. Good luck and thanks, always came across a great person.

    Ruben Selles

I think the board just lost it when Jones did the mad post match interview. Clearly they bought players to suit him not a return to ralphball. I assume plan was to tough it out and have the championship manager of the season if/when we went down or get rid then. But everything went so toxic they had to act, Selles gets a lucky win so gets the gig and by time it is obvious he is as out of his depth as Jones was it seemed we were down. Crazy thing is with so much crap at the bottom of the league they could still have binned Selles and potentially escaped but his record until the international break was just enough to save him.
  6. 2005 hurt because it was the first relegation I experienced (was only about 4 for the one before) and I think had always felt like so many times before that we would get out of it. Other than the final game that season I thought we showed some fight. This time just want the season over and a bit meh. In 05 we clearly deserved to go down given where we finished but it didn’t feel we were quite as abject as this year. Also we have been crap bar a couple of runs of games for so long it is like watching a slow train crash. Only reason we were not formally down weeks ago is the utter crap of teams at the bottom yet somehow we have been even worse.
  7. Agree the final was really only notable for seeing Saints at old Wembley. I thought the semi final at Chelsea was a real le tiss highlights/lowlights. Remember trying to say how he had done to someone after and saying he basically did sod all …. Other than score a hat trick 🤣
  8. Funny that at the highest level the criticism was always that he didn’t have a football brain to go with the pace. That may have been right but his movement is miles ahead of our other “10s” and he is clearly an intelligent guy too. If he keeps fit he adds something and to have any chance at all of escape we need that.
  9. Great game and welcome point. Excellent from Baz, the back 4, especially Bednarek and KWP. Lavia and JWP pretty good, Charly with lots of energy and missed when taken off. Up front I think many are being harsh on Theo, yes he misplaced a few touches but he is playing with intelligence and making runs others don’t. Should have done better with the header but the 1 on 1 was a decent hit and great save. Also the subes were a bit of what we have - not sure the game for Ballard but he needs more minutes. still fighting
  10. He was good today and has been in recent weeks. He clearly struggled after the injury last year but if he keeps fit could play key part for rest of season.
  11. First half I thought we were pretty good, still weak at the back and rode luck but the front 6 looked better than for weeks. Poor pen by JWP but great goal /assist by Alcaraz and Che. Thought Theo did well also and surprised he got taken off so early. Sulemana seemed to take a step forward by a lot still to do re end product. His pace terrified them. Second half was pretty poor, losing Alcaraz unfortunate but all the subs made us worse maybe aside from Stu at the end. Ely really bad on the ball and AA…. I get he presses well but we used to bring Long on with 10 to go to do that. Lavia great til he tired, similar KWP. JWP and AMN 7 out of 10s - same for the CBs Baz, he just looks lost. Amazing given how utterly shit we have been we are back in the mix - really only need a short run of form and could escape. Unfortunately I don’t know if the team have it in them but let’s at least keep the starting 11 for now.
  12. First half we bossed it, best since spurs last season. Second half was backs to wall but fantastic effort and team spirit. Shout out to Baz - as others said his best game for us. Tall Paul I thought was excellent but has only 40 mins in the tank. All did well though and subs pretty good - thought Theo did well and was both an outlet and disciplined. Finally some hope.
  13. Of course he is not and nobody has said - so it is a bullshit argument. He is in a role that is very highly paid and he has failed. He has us relegated so cost the club millions, loads will lose their jobs. And that is before even mentioning us fans who don’t expect the earth just a club we can be proud of. He failed on every measure. That is not bullying, it is the unfortunate truth. He should never have been appointed. Certainly not survived last week and needs to go. He has his millions of compensation so doesn’t need a contrarian online warrior coming to his aid.
  14. Vitinha would be outstanding, saw him live when Braga played at Estoril and he scored with a great strike. Clearly still some areas to improve but I would have thought he was heading to the top and will be out of our league after this window.
