  1. I thought Mr Mickey Mouse was going to fund all levels of the club. Has he given up already?
  2. I blame their manager’s lack of ambition, myself... However, this is exactly the type of player we should be persuing, not rubbish like Carillo at lunatic prices. Clearly, Les wasn’t consulted on this one, thank God.
  3. Because Pellegrino was Reeds responsibility, not Gao’s. Reed himself, however, answers to Gao (or he should do). As I said we’re talking about Gao’s finances here and it’s big money, so that should remove any sentiment from his decision making.
  4. So he should too! With Gao in town we can only hope he had bad news to deliver to Les. After all, surely Gao would take this opportunity to remove the perpetrator of the impending train wreck to his finances, wouldn’t he? To leave Reed in place would simply exacerbate the insanity.
  5. Technically I think he is correct. Pretty sure the club was formed as Southampton St Mary’s and only became Southampton FC several years later. Unlike you not to know that!
  6. Dubai Phil over on Sotonians just posted that "contract signed".
  7. Clearly all the evidence suggests that VVD is in the process of being sold. Therefore use whatever portion of these funds it takes to pay off MP and his crew and employ a name manager with credits who the players will want to play for. Then give him whatever funds are left over for new players. The manager is the most important football appointment but is usually paid way less than average players. Do this and we have a chance whereas MP + new players = relegation. Getting the manager right is the key and the rest follows. It may take changes at the top though as Les Reed may continue to pretend all is well as he is the one who set it up. Two sacked managers in six months = LR sacked surely? Tuchel is still available, AVB is out there somewhere, or Mancini perhaps. A bit of ambition could sort this mess ...
  8. There is nothing good happening at our club at all at present. The whole mess needs reorganizing from top to bottom and not by Les Reed. This needs fixing by his successor ...
  9. Can someone please confirm if Les Reed is actually still alive? I do hope that nothing has happened to him, but for the Football Director of a PL team, and one performing way below the expectations of its fan base (customers), it has to be said that Les is conspicuous by his absence. He appears to only bob up a couple of times a year with a diatribe praising himself, but when things go bad where is he? Where is the leadership from anyone within the club when fans are so obviously demanding answers? They do know we exist, right?
  10. Everything about the club at present looks like it is built in Les Reed's image. Les has been left in total charge of football matters and this is how we have ended up. But who will sack him and re-energise the club? This is on the edge of crisis now and we can only hope the Chinese will step in and take the sort of action that their 80% allows them to. Surely things can't keep drifting along as they are?
  11. Problem is that both our owners are in absentia overseas and probably not feeling the rising tide of hostility. Les Reed is left in charge of all football matters and he would presumably prefer to ignore it as it would reflect badly on him. Les's position may well be untenable if MP has to be sacked so soon after the demise of Puel. Our best hope for some positive action may be Ralph who is not involved in football per se but acts as an observer and reports back to Kat (don't know about Gao). Surely he will see the discontent among the customers and maybe start to query if Les has perhaps reached his use by date. Maybe he was seeking advice from MLT on such matters at the Brighton game?
  12. Now that's a Tragedy ....
  13. Trying to second guess Les here, but I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Eddie Howe pitch up at some stage if things don't improve. He is reputably a favorite of Les and they apparently get along well. Les has seemed reluctant to try and snatch him from a local team but Howe may now have gone about as far as he can at Boscombe and the time may be right for all parties. No idea how he would go at Saints but these last few years down the road have been quite extraordinary under Howe's leadership. Alternatively, of course, Claude Puel is currently available ....
  14. But, our ownership structure are not football people (Kat, Gao, Ralph). They are all from overseas with no experience of English football. Les appears to have convinced them he is 'the man' and they appear to leave football matters in his hands and have shown complete trust in him. Can't really see the joint owners sacking Les and they probably don't have an idea for a replacement anyway. Wonder if MLT would like a job?
  15. Seriously, I never ever expected the day to come when two people called Ralph and Nelly would be running our club.
