  1. As new - a duplicated gift from distant family members. Price marked is £9. Selling for £6 including postage. You can pay me by PayM or bank transfer.
  2. It doesn't matter the reason, what matters is the tone of the response. Not "we'd love to be able to but..." or "we'll look into it", just a "no". If you don't like the kit, that's fine, nobody is forcing you. Some others mentioned above that they were interested, so I am extending the offer. As I said, I am going to do it anyway. Sorting it out for others is only going to be hassle for me, what with payment and postage but I'm happy to do it for fellow Saints fans who do like the kit.
  3. I saw a few folks asking after the shirts above. I want one for myself and a few family members. I asked the club and they are 100% a one-off shirt and will not get another print run, nomatter what the demand. I'm finding this a pretty typical response these days from Saints...I assume the customer service staff are trained using a 1970s bank manager training VHS. ANYWAY. I'm going to recreate the shirt and get it printed here (I live in Hong Kong). Anyone have any idea on the typefaces used for the SAINTS/CHANGING THE WORLD THROUGH SPORT on the front and COPENHAGEN 2021 on the back? For the back "Monaco" seems quite close but I know it's not right. So far I haven't got close to the front. When I do it I'm happy to share the results here. If anyone can answer the typeface question or is interested in getting one made, let me know. I got an estimate of £15 per shirt.
  4. The Championship and PL are a world apart. I remember Jos Hooiveld was one of the best CBs in the league for our promotion season and then looked completely shell-shocked in his few games in the Premier League. Hooiveld is an absolutely top bloke, by the way. I feel that his attitude, like Nigel's, meant he should have been given more of a chance. Anyway I think it shows we would be really lucky if we found a mid table Championship club CB who could immediately start and look good.
  5. Just got a reply: Hi, Thanks for the email. I have passed your comments onto our e-marketing team who are responsible for sending this email earlier today. The aim of the email was to engage with inactive account holders or those that may not have purchased a ticket for some time to establish if the accounts need to remain active on our systems. You are able to update your details/preferences if you wish or opt to unsubscribe from receive any future communications from us. Many thanks, Jim Supporter Services Southampton FC
  6. No reply as yet from the club. From the above I'm guessing it's legit, although I don't want to believe it. I hope someone is at least taking some notice about how sloppy this is coming from a multi-million pound high profile business. This is really basic stuff. Don't send half-arsed crap to your entire customer base.
  7. Not heard anything from the club yet. Looking in my spam folder I found I have a few emails from info@saints-comms.com, starting from 13 January 2021, about hospitality. Could this sh1te actually be a real club communication? I can't quite believe that an actual business staffed by functioning adults would produce and approve such an email. I'm almost fingers crossed for a data breach...
  8. Hi all, I got an incredibly spammy email titled "<my name>, Do we have your correct details?" about 35 mins before I am posting this. I have reported it to the club via the contact form and forwarded a copy to supporter services. It was from "info@saints-comms.com" and it had my name, registered email address and my supporter number. There are various promises of winning a competition and links to enter your password and check your details by filling in forms. There are a few mistakes in the text as is normal with phishing emails. Not sure if there has been a data breach of the supporter database, I wonder how else a third party would get my supporter number. Thought I had better log back in here and post about it. I will let you know if I get a response from the club. If you have also got this email maybe you can reply to this post so we can see if it's really going out to the supporter database or if it's just a few or even just my details that are leaked. Even if you haven't got it maybe use this as a prompt to remind your less tech-savvy friends never to click on links in such emails!
  9. It's the performance we needed. 2 stand-outs for me. Hats off to Redmond for playing out of his skin after all the justified criticism over the last 3 months. Armstrong just keeps getting better and better.
  10. The bottom falling out as everyone predicted it would. Never deal with China, it's all flash and no substance. There's never any real money.
  11. We've probably all seen the NBA Vs China controversy over the past week. If not, a quick Google of Daryl Morey and LeBron James will get you there. I was uneasy when 4/5 of our club was sold to a Chinese businessman. The track record has not been amazing for football clubs and Chinese owners. I'm more uneasy than ever now. China's human rights abuses and totalitarian regime, previously easy to ignore, have jow jumped firmly out from behind the great firewall, attacking the former British Colony of Hong Kong (whilst our government hmm loudly and look the other way). They have now shown that they expect sports stars and clubs to also kneel before Xi and toe the CCP line or risk losing the vast and maybe/maybe not real amounts of money being thrown at them. Morey deleted his tweet...why? LeBron came out saying basically that everyone should have ignored the people being killed by the CCP for one more week so he could cash in with a cleaner conscience. Meanwhile NBA "fans" in China have declared their support for Bin Laden and 9/11 and that it should happen again and again. Do we want to be like this? Do we want to be beholden to such people? Sport is NOT separate and "unifying", unless you mean we ALL have to pretend we're OK with the CCP's evil brand of communism. NBA is second best to English football in China for sure. I for one would be over the moon if the controversy spread to football and we kicked out the Chinese advertising that's all over our shirts and stadium hoardings, and waved bye bye to our mainland owner. It's all blood money. #freehongkong #standwithhk
  12. Against one of the opponents that we hope will take one of the relegation places a loss was a blow and feels disproportionately bad. I look at it this way - we are changing. It's never easy to do this mid-season but I feel like we have the man to do it. This is a problem 3 seasons in the making and RH should be given a free hit this season, with the provision that we stay up and the football is more exciting, as he has promised. Once strategy and formation is set, the team will grow in confidence. We can name a full team of seasoned international players - how can they not be good enough?! We don't need to spend massively in January, We just need to get this groups' heads on correctly. BELIEVE!
  13. Objection on Jos Hooiveld, OP! He wasn't exactly given a chance after his baptism of fire against Man City and he was an absolute colossus for us the season before. Yoshi is mostly average but when he's not on it he might as well be a hologram. On his off days he is the worst of the current bunch, however I think Hoedt and Stephens are by average performance the worst defenders that have spent an amount of time in the side. I feel kinda bad attacking Stephens as he obviously cares but jeez...a CB who can't head the ball...playing week in, week out in the EPL...we are a shambles.
  14. +1 for Kingsland corner. Jesus Christ we are a multi million pound organisation. Hire a ****ing architect to organise the segregation, safe policing routes, etc...make the plans known just after new year so people can get their grumble out of the way and choose their new seat in plenty of time for renewals next season. Rocket science it is not.
  15. It's written to be inflammatory for sure. I would argue that Puel was a failed experiment. Pellegrino was a big mistake, which was not realised/reacted to in time. Hughes is meant to be a safe pair of hands. We can tread water hopefully around 9-12th for 2 seasons and then we'll roll the dice on another manager. As the article says there is a massive void of leadership on and off the pitch. Bertrand is not a leader, why is he captain? At the moment it's gotta be Ings. You can ask Hojbjerg, Vestergaard or maybe Mccarthy or even Ward-Prowse to step up...perhaps. Of course whomever is captain, they have to be guaranteed starters every week. Of the pitch some things were said at the fans forum that are encouraging, however we really need a bold "Southampton Way" again. Remember our teams in the relegation years? This lot feel dangerously close. We have a dangerously high number of the squad who either clearly don't give a toss or just aren't good enough. At present we have 5-6 bang average players, even 'journeymen', in the starting XI most weeks, yet exciting talents like Sims get sent out to Reading. Ask yourself if you'd be more excited to hear that Long or Obafemi was coming on with 10 mins to go? If the Southampton Way is to bring youth through, then do it. If it's to throw money at established players to solve our immediate problems, then do it. Only a fool does the same things over and over and expects different results.
