I think you are mistaken, there is no history of that.

 

Just to address the latest portsmyth to be regurgitated as a distraction from a League Two relegation battle, let's look at some facts in the cold light of day.

 

Ronaldhino played for Barcelona against Real Madrid.

He played in Milan derbies.

He played for Brazil against Argentina.

But when he looks back on his career of cut-throat derbies, World Cup finals and Champion's League games, it will be the night that he visited El Rickety - the shed of fat, which will stand out as the greatest atmosphere in world football.

And it must be true because there is an elusive quote that is meant to be out there somewhere.

 

Laughable!

But it is these little nostalgic embers of myth that will warm them through the forthcoming winter of much discontent.

And if they survive the ravages of League Two and make it to the Spring, they can then celebrate as our season unravels and we freefall to 9th, while they secure safety along with their equals Burton and Morecambe.

But they will always be the bestest, and that's why green-eyed Nutjobs still pound their fists at the league tables, their bitter hearts bursting with jealousy.

It seems that the prophet "Rallyboy", may well have been right and the plucky hero whittingham, is in fact now the villain.

 

I wonder how things would have turned out in Chanrai was still in charge.

Some new organisation has popped up out of the woodwork - it looks like the Sellar Property Group have established a 2 foot wide ransom strip across an access to Fratton Park and blocked it with a closed gate.

For the first time in my lifetime of supporting Pompey - over 20 years - I heard the team roundly booed off on Saturday evening.

 

This comes as no surprise – In my eyes, the community take over never had the finance to be a success – it’s populated by people who - on the whole - are decent Pompey folk with the best intentions, but are also those who harked back to a game lost to nostalgia - A game where players got the bus to the ground, lived and socialised in the city they represented.

 

A noble ideal but not one that exists in the cut and thrust of modern football.

 

Let me get this clear - the minimum level of expectation among Pompey fans should be back to back promotions into the Championship - if the trust achieve this, it wouldn't be a success, it would just be what is required of a club the size of Portsmouth - one that gets gates of 14/15k in the bottom two divisions.

 

However this would require small investment - and what's happened instead?

 

You've got a coach who was appointed as manager without an interview process - because he didn't cost anything.

 

You've got an assistant manager who doubles up as a physio as there's no money to employ a proper coaching team.

 

You've got your star home grown talent on a youth contact as there's no money to even move him up to a contract on the same level as 'stars' such as Ricky Holmes.

 

You've got a squad crying out for the 'Jed Wallace training ground' due to the fact - despite a much heralded move - there's not a bean to spend on it.

 

And what do we get in response?

 

Effort placed on hair brained schemes by an engagement manager seemingly running the backroom of PFC like some despot in the twilight of a crazed regime. (incidentally another appointment without an interview process)

 

Hands up who cares about ordering tickets on Facebook or having a drink brought to your seat?

 

Hands up who is embarrassed by Pompey’s communication to fans – after last orders, it often looks like a teenage girl’s facebook page - All smiley faces and exclamation marks.

 

Milan Mandaric once called Pompey a Mom and Pop shop – well that makes the trust's version of the club a lemonade stand at the end of a cul-de-sac.

 

Quite simply they'll run this club into the ground - due to a combination of bad decisions, jobs for the boys & no money.

 

Why on earth isn't there uproar over the terrible deal for the club for the stadium land? Most clubs in similar situations get stands built for them by the supermarket.

 

Why on earth isn't there uproar over the fact that Pompey's wage/turnover sits at 30 odd per cent when they're allowed to have it at 50? Despite the biggest crowds outside of the Championship we're getting outbid on players by Fleetwood.

 

The trust should seek investment at the first availability - put their hands up and say running a football club to a decent standard is quite obviously beyond their financial capability.

 

A manager of the ilk of Neil Warnock needs to be brought in - players like Jed Wallace need to be secured and wages need to be put up to the max level allowed by the FL.

 

None of this will happen - the trust are too content with inviting their mates up into the boardroom.

 

We’ll be fobbed off with Martin Allen or Macca being given a shot in the hot seat.

 

We’ll be fobbed off by Jed Wallace leaving as we can’t even give him a professional contract.

 

We’ll be fobbed off by having an iPhone app shoved down our throats, where you have the ability to purchase a flag with ‘zeal does not rest’ on it and have it brought to your seat.

 

Enough is enough – invest in the playing squad – invest in a coaching team – get us to the Championship and then seek for investment that will push the club back to the Premier League.

 

Anything less than this football club ceases to be for the community.

 

Ironically it becomes the few thing so many fought to get rid of:

 

A play thing for the elite of Portsmouth – a place for them to have a few glasses of wine on a Saturday afternoon - with scant regard for results on the pitch.

 

Enough is Enough.

wow that was close, he had nearly dropped off the herometer into villainy, but Guy can now be gently coaxed back from the red zone into hero status, as the last year will be quietly airbrushed from history.

 

In the defence of the Trust, I'm not sure they had much choice on this decision, it made itself.

 

For our own comedic purposes it would be nice if Guy went on a PR offensive now and lifted the lid on some of the stuff we know is going on but they gloss over.
