Depends how you look at it. Saints have spent £36m this summer and you will have Wanyama, Lovren and Osvaldo in your squad. How much more do you suggest I give you to spend at the beginning of FM14 ontop of the £36m the squad has already benefitted from? If I give another £36m then you will get double the benefit, which isn't right.

What the f*ck do you have to do at Saints to become liked by the fans? I've just finished my 3rd season in charge having just won the Champions League for the second season in a row as well as winning the Capital One Cup, the European Super Cup and the Club World Championship, and guiding us to a comfortable 5th placed finish in the league despite suffering crippling injury problems and a nightmare start to the league season.

 

The club made a profit of £81.4m this season, the squad is full of world-class players and there's a core of young academy products in the team. I have spent £97m on players in my 3 seasons at the club, but have brought in £60m from player sales, meaning that our total transfer outlay is only a little over £10m a season on average. We have lost only 29 games of the 169 games we've played while i've been manager, winning 97 of them. The club is now worth over £1bn. I am already the 10th most successful Scottish manager that there ever has been, despite this being my 3rd season in management.

 

Yet with all of this, Nigel Adkins and Gordon Strachan are still more favoured by the fans. How the f*ck does that work!? Something for SI/MLG to look at I think.

That's true, I could imagine Alpine on here going on about how we should be doing better in the league! We're going for the title next season, honest ;)

 

I mean, even though WGS is one of my favourite Saints managers and was very popular with the fans, he only had a couple of seasons in charge and got us a cup final and an 8th placed finish. I've won 6 cups and got us 4th, 3rd and 5th placed finishes in my couple of seasons in charge so far. Bit of an odd flaw in the game I think.

I'm now in 2021. Update on starting players still with me.

 

Boruc now a scout at the club.

Clyne still playing well although nearly 30 now and a few bad injuries means stats wise he is declining a bit.

Shaw regular left back for Saints and England, started the first few seasons playing average but picked up a lot since I gave him a bit more attacking duties.

Wanyama, monster in midfield, never sell! Quality ratings all the time.

JWP, club captain - 26 years old, 56 caps and regularly in the votes for player of the year, although Messi seems to win everytime.

I lost in the Chanmpions league final 3rd season in a close game with Madrid, board still only satisfied with my performance. That same season got 3 players from the Italian league (2 were frees so not sure that counts other than in MLGs arguments) and board still not satisfied with the number of pasta eating signings. WHAT DO THEY WANT FROM ME??

And Mikey, have you read this place, the fans will never be happy, just dewy eyed for the past.

 

Had a shocker with Ipswich, board sold my 2 best players and gave me no money, eventually got sacked :blush: - that hasn't happened in a long time!

 

Started a new game with Derby, came second first season :smug: currently very stable in the Prem second season. Though predicting where I will finish is nigh on impossible, tightest league I have ever seen bout 28 games in and something like 5 points seperates 4-13!

what tic-tacs you use Mikey?

 

Created my own one, I can upload it if you like. The best formation to use with Saints seems to be a 4-2-3-1 with DMs and attacking wingers.

Also I managed to get the board not to judge me on signing players from Italy. I am a god.

 

Just done this. Now they have changed the patch and my tactics that were working wonders before have suddenly stopped working. Damn you SI Games, Damn you MLG, Damn you NC Damn you all to hell!

Eder Alvarez Balanta is an absolute beast on my latest save playing alongside Dejan. Has anyone tried the game with Coventry yet? Seems like their whole situation could be an interesting game

I have started my annual Regional Leagues game with my hometown team. Breezed through first season and won the title by about 15pts after a rough start, beat Brentford 4-1 in a pre-season friendly and sitting top of the Isthmian D1 Southern table going into November. Premier League, here we come! Got to League 1 last year and lost interest, wonder whether I can better that this year...

i was playing the other day right, and there was a goalscoring chance and when it cut to the animation thing i saw with horror that boruc was up in the opposition penalty box shaking hands with petr cech! This was only in the first half at 0-0 i have no idea what the dumb pole thought he was doing but Gary Cahill got the ball and thudded it into the empty net from fully 60 yds. I was v.angar bout this. i dropped boruc for next game.

Is it just simple data update with Osvaldo at Juve and other transfers or is is a full data update with players ability changed etc?

 

Lots of changes to player abilities and other things.

 

Also will this bugger up the match engine again like 14.2 did for a bit?

 

It'll come with match engine improvements and bug fixes in other areas.

When it does come out Steam will update automatically (unless you've turned that option off) and on the start screen you'll see its version 14.3 in the bottom right corner, plus give you the option to use the 14.3 data when starting a new game.

 

Which Saints players are changed and how?

 

A huge number of changes have been made to the Saints data, far too many for me to list. A lot more players getting increases in CA than those getting decreases.

Can you comment on the rumour that a new hidden stat, "Likelihood of lamping team-mate", has been added in honour of Osvaldo? If so, is it a 1-20 stat or one of those bigger ones?

FFS MLG! I am 5 matches away from winning the league, top by 1 point with a game in hand and along come SI and bugger up my tactics. If I fail, I will find Miles and I will kill Miles.
