If you're looking to get involved in rowing, for social or competitive purposes BTC Rowing Club welcomes new members, whether they are new to the sport of rowing; relocating into the area; back from university for the summer; or are coming back into the sport after a longer break. Whatever your reason is, you will find us to be a friendly and very competitive club to join with a good social side. We have competing members from the age of 10 to 70 years. The novice division is a competitive division for first time rowers. Novice rowers train 2-3 times a week and attend around 8-12 regattas a season. They will race against other first time rowers at these regattas. There is usually a wide range of ages involved; winners of the novice division in recent years have included rowers aged from 15 to 50.

There are sections for juniors (10 to 16), seniors (16+ to 40) and Veterans (over 40). All of the sections have facilities for male and female participants. We row locally in the Hants & Dorset Rowing Association during the summer months. This entails racing in coastal boats at regattas within the region at weekends. Regattas include Southsea (someone has to), 4 in Southampton, 3 in the Isle of Wight, Bournemouth, New Milton, Poole and Swanage (which is a great weekender on the water and in the pub).
