Standard of refs

I'm usually pretty quick to criticise a poor performance by a ref but I didn't think Dean was that bad yesterday. Certainly not a Kevin Friend, Lee Mason, or Stuart Atwell kind of awful anyway.

Thought Mike Dean was fine last night

Kind of liked the way he lets some 50/50s go whilst the player(s) were rolling around looking at him

Dean was good last night. One of the better refereeing performances of the season. He was pretty consistent in allowing defenders to get stuck in and didn’t give them their penalty appeal. I think he got most yellow card calls correct. I thought Bednarek’s was harsh and the challenge on Redmond near the end was probably a sort of 60/40 decision where he maybe should have given it but I can understand him not giving it.

He wasn’t that bad. Embarrassing how some think if we don’t get every decision the ref is incompetent or corrupt.

Standard is generally poor admittedly but bleating every game just highlights how clueless some people are.

Thought he was alright, the game had a good flow to it, but bottled the sending off at the end.
