So who decides what makes somebody a troll? This site is full of people who like to judge others simply because they don't believe what's being said.

 

I've been called a troll in the past because certain people didn't believe what I was saying and I refused to reveal my source. The fact that my information was coming first hand from Dave Bassett was irrelevant. From my own experience the people who do all the judging actually seem to be the ones least in the know.

Just discovered this thread and realised that the likes of wes is threatening to leave. All I can say is I think we would see an immediate improvement if this were to happen. Someone get frank to take similar action and we are almost there! He has paranoia already (following him around for goodness sake) so shouldn't be hard to persuade.

And personally I'm not a fan of Glasgow or Barry sanchez as I think both of them just post a load of made up rubbish that they don't really mean purely to get someone to rise to the bait. I'm not going to start having pages of debate with them though, generally I ignore them. They are cleverer than most people think though and will mostly target the people they are most likely to get a bite from.

I would be supportive of bans for those two but if they don't then I'll just keep ignoring them like I always do. Only one poster has ever made my ban list and that's cos they followed me round posting after everything I said (not pretend following around frank like what happens in your head.) so it made the board easier to read once they were gone.

Yes I can see why Turkish may irritate some people but personally I find reactions from posters towards hm to be much more annoying. I think it's obvious from his replies that he is normally having a laugh and is able to debate football sensibly unlike the other two. For me Turkish is definitely not a troll.

I said that if the forum failed to control those few posters who are ruining it for everybody else, I would cancel my subscription. I'll spell it out for you. That means three a posts a day limit, which is pretty well all I do anyway. I can see how similar action might affect you though, as somebody with as many posts as you obviously doesn't have much of a life outside this forum.

I realise that you are a bum-chum of the the people who ought to have action taken against them, so your post comes as no surprise. Frank also posts infrequently, but makes more sense in two or three posts than you do in 50.

Can someone confirm what the acceptable limit of posts is please? Whenever anyone gets in (and is usually losing) an arguement with someone who has a higher number of posts than them the default insult seems to be to accuse them of having no life due to the amount if posts they have. So what Is the cut off point when you do have a life and what is the acceptable number of posts to have?

Ultimately, the insult is "hur hur, you're on a football forum loads so you must have no life". This message is somewhat diluted by the fact that the messenger is also on a football forum, presumably jipping off doing Something Less Boring Instead in favour of making that point.

The forum exists on the monies paid as subscriptions and if sufficient number of disillusioned posters withdrew their contributions, then the forum probably becomes unviable financially. Get it? You do realise that if someone posted say 30 times over a 24 hour period (very possible if they are having a few discussions or arguments) and then didn't post again for 4 days that that would almost be 8 posts a day?

It's not the 8 posts a day which makes me sad, it's the fact that i come on here every day and probably read 90% of everything written, no matter how dumb or boring it is.
