Defectors Watch

I suggest we buy back Lovren, who was not even qualified for being on the bench for Liverpool, for £10 million and he will become a new VDD in a year or two to solve Liverpool's defence problem. After 1 or 2 years, despite fans' reluntance, the board will sell Lovren to Liverpool for over £50 million. The Board will buy back VDD, who will not even be qualified for being on the bench for Liverpool, for £10 million. This will be a win-win-win-win situation.

Very pleased for J-Rod yesterday. Still think the Club did the right thing in selling although even with his post-injury form I would have opted to offload Long before him.

Yep, he didnt look half the player he was when he came back from injury. He needed the move to re-vitalise him.

Yesterday he looked like the player of old, looks like he's fit again and has gained a yard or two of pace back, very happy for him, was a model pro while here!

Debateable, still think if he never had that injury he too would have looked for a big move- his dad was quite a character though!

West Ham operating their standard transfer window M.O of bidding or being interested in........everyone. You can add Schneiderlin to the growing list.

Schneiderlin's time at Everton echo's how I see a lot of our recent signings. Failed at a big club spending most of his time on the bench and then hasn't been up for it even when moving down a level.

We are no different. Played out alot of our interests in the media this month. Failed to deliver on any of our big profile targets.

Theo...

Just the one then? not like you to exaggerate

Come on ALWAYS, you're being disingenuous here. You know very well that the club publicly stated we were after Theo, Sturridge and Promes.

I hope we'll get Promes, but that is still only a 33% hit rate on links we have basically announced ourselves. If we don't get Promes its 0% :|

We failed on one but i cannot remember the public statement re Sturridge but if shown otherwise i will accept and we have not

failed on Promes, not yet at least...

The failure to attract both TW and DS is not a big miss in my eyes as i dont rate TW at the price or wages suggested and DS is just a accident waiting to happen

Oh deary deary me. It's Luke Shaw all over again .[emoji849][emoji3]

But if this is generally indicative that our fitness standards are low, I'm actually not surprised.

I doubt it's indicative of Saints in general. He was half-hearting it on the pitch and off for five months to get his move. Bound to have some medium term impact.

Be a shame if he does some sort of injury while trying to up his fitness levels though. Terrible shame.

Schneiderlin and Martina are being absolutely slaughtered in the Liverpool Echo and Everton Forum's

Martina - we were advised about his very mediocre talent before he joined us by our Dutch based supporters, so there was no great expectation.

Schneiderlin - he always did well for us but his career has nosedived since leaving SMS although his on field disappointment must be offset by his increased bank balance.

Separately when you look at Koeman's time at Everton there was a significant amount of transfer funds outlaid for a number of very poorly performing players.

He'd be alright there if he had one of the best sides the Championship (let alone League 1) has ever seen.
I remember pardew saying when he was at Saints, that we were going back the premier league with or without him.

We had a hell of a side for those levels

That is because he is vastly overrated and not very good.

Yep. Said this all along. Can’t believe a fair few wanted him here.

Very decent bloke, but a pretty average manager.

Wanyama is unreal btw. He is such a loss to us (I always argued he’d be a bigger loss than Morgan).

He got a lot of stick for his passing, which is no way as bad as many made out. Just imagine him and Lemina together

I posted Stewart Robsons criticism of VvD on here and got shouted down by some. But he showed today exactly what Robson claimed. He didn’t win the header against Llorente & then was oblivious to the danger from the resulting flick on. As Robson said at the top top level you’ll be punished.

Defensive midfield specialist.

Arsenal & Liverpool would be so much better with him in their sides.

Some people need to make their mind up - either the manager makes a difference, or he doesn't.

Steady on, it was a decent team but Reading and Newcastle have both been promoted fairly recently with 100+ points.

Anyway, Burley proved that having a decent squad in itself doesn't guarantee success.

Indeed. Well we won on Saturday because the players ignored MP and showed their tremendous character -they refused MP’s best attempts to stifle it. Roared on by loyal fans of course. Not many of us rate MP but the bile towards him on here is incredible and would love him to turn it around. Don’t think he will but would love it I tell ya.
