Its quite clear what our problem is

Looking at our results this season it is clear what we need to do to win the League - just get all our matches played at 3 pm on a Saturday.

When you look at it, so far this season we have played 9 Saturday games and have won them all bar WBA in which we drew. That makes it 25 points out of a possible 27 when we play at 3 pm on Saturdays.

We have plajed 6 matches at other times // on other days and out of a possible 18 points have obtained just one.

Can't we get all our matches rearranged to Saturday 3 pm and bob's your uncle the title is ours!!

The argument is flawed -in statistical jargon, one of confounding variables. It stands to reason that we are more likely to win our 3pm fixtures since they are against weaker, unfashionable sides. After all, these fixtures are less likely to be moved for Sky purposes or because of Europa league commitments ;)
