The scenes in that away end were utterly chaotic.

That's what a £38 ticket got you yesterday.

Elia was brought down right on the edge of the box (may a tad inside) and got nothing.

Dont know about Clattenburg but Mike Dean is the best ref in the league currently in my opinion.

Yesterday was a good example of where Djuricic would be an asset for us. That bit of outright creativity that Davis and Ward Prowse don't quite give us. Little through balls to Mane and Elia etc.

We could have taken QPR to the cleaners, esp in the first half. So much space in behind them, compounded by the confusion between their CBs. All it needed was one ball. Wouldnt even say the ball had to be perfect or that creative - just played earlier by the midfield.

Elia was bailed out by Forster's save from Austin's deflection. He stayed by the right post as everyone else came out. Austin would have been offside if he had come out. No doubt he will be schooled on that situation.

Fonte confirmed that the referee told him that he saw both offences. Onuha jumping in at Forster and the offside when the ball hit Onuha on the head.

I noticed the condition of the pitch even before kick off. A premiership club that's had millions spent on it can't even get the basics right.

Dave Watson is Uber Serious. I love that he is a GK coach but that isn't enough for him. He wants in on the substitutions. He wants in on the tactics and briefing players on set piece responsibilities. He wants in on doing the whole handshake thing on the pitch at the end of the game. And I wouldn't be surprised if that earpiece he has on doesn't even work. He wants to complete football and will not sleep until he does.

Also, regarding the goal celebrations, I love the **** eating grin on Harrison Reed's face as he passed the QPR bench on his way to warm up

To be fair to Watson, he's got the Pro Licence, so he's perfectly qualified to be getting involved in that sort of stuff as well as his specialist goalkeeping duties.

I was intrigued by Reed continuing to warm up for the last 10 minutes despite us having already made all three substitutions. He was then doing another fitness session on the pitch after the game.

It's not as simple as that. Yes in the ideal world Djuricic will fit seamlessly into the No. 10 position. He will take on the high pressing and energy levels of Davis and JWP and the cutting edge and goals that we have missed in his position.

It's just that it's asking an awful lot of a player who hasn't even trained with the team yet.

i was sat in the TV gantry stand only 9 rows up from the pitch (My Boss and his Son have STs at Loftus Road and one was spare) the first thing you noticed was how shabby the playing surface was looking: very Championship/ League 1.

My only gripe to come away from the game with was the "not so" clever back heel flicks from Pelle to Mr Nobody. seemed a few too many of them.

Staying with coming away from the ground, it was great to hear the Saints fans singing their hearts out after the final whistle as we made our way back to the car: sounding even sweeter as my boss stomped along under a dirty great black cloud of despondency.

We are London based so enjoyed the opportunity to sit down and relax a bit as the crowds dispersed, rather than the usual jog over the Itchen Bridge before belting up the motorway to get home.

This match reminded me so much of the Millwall match during our promotion year when we won it at the death after it really looked as though we wouldn't score if we played all night. I'm starting to believe we can do this, Europe here we come.

Pelle was kicked around all match and has been for weeks now. OK he isn't playing great, but I expect he thought he was hired to play football whereas he ends up every week in a wrestling match - just support him. He allows the rest of the team time to play.

Well I'm not asking that of the player. I'm aware of why he wasn't available for Saturday's game. And I'm happy, at times, to give up a bit of JWP/Davis' hard work for a bit more creativity. Not every minute of every game, horses for courses and all that.

I agree. This game was an excellent example of us missing creativity from midfield; there were quite a few opportunities for Davis and JWP to play a decisive pass and they couldn't quite pull it off. In addition, neither of them can make defences scramble by taking on a player and beating him, thus leaving an extra man free somewhere. We have no one that runs at players from midfield.

If we're going to play with 2 defensive midfielders (which is justified when you look at our record and at how good Wanyama and Morgan have been), then you need the third, more advanced, midfielder to provide something they don't have: that extra bit of skill, or a killer pass. Whether that's Tadic in a no. 10 position, or Djuricic, or someone else that we are yet to buy, I don't know, but that's an area where we could really improve. Of course, these types of players are the ones who are most prized, so it's easier said than done.

Taarabt had a 5 min spell in the first half on how to do that, luckily for us he was too unfit to do it for more than that.

I'd have thought that most of the idiots would have got the "Mané is rubbish" nonsense out of their system by now, considering how crucial he's been in recent games.

All of his goals have been important:

Stoke (home) - only goal of the game.

Palace (away) - first goal, win comfortably thereafter

Chelsea (home) - first goal, got a point

Arsenal (home) - first goal, win comfortably thereafter

QPR (away) - only goal of the game.

Sure, he's going to be a bit inconsistent at times, he's still only 22 years old, but he's already shown that he comes up trumps at key moments in big games.

Found myself feeling quite irritated by the BBC Breakfast TV Sports reporter on Monday morning, telling viewers that Man U's draw at West Ham had taken them "back up to 4th". Before the weekend they had been 3rd, above Saints by 1 point. After we won at QPR they dropped to 4th and when they drew at WHU they stayed 4th. It would be interesting to know how much the reporter is paid to give wrong information to millions of TV viewers but like the rest of the media, she is probably so focused on the so-called big clubs, that she probably sees Southampton as just a temporary anomaly in the table.

So just for the benefit of BBC Breakfast, - Manchester United dropped a place to 4th this weekend and remained there after drawing at West Ham.

I feel your pain Professor, Alan Green did something similar while commentating on one of the other games over the weekend by saying that 7 points only separated Man City, Man Utd, Tottenham and Arsenal. As if Saints don't even exist (which to the BBC is almost true).

The longer we stay 'under the radar' the better....
