Which of course is the classic anti-Semitic trope.

Do you honestly not know that?

I have little interest in banking, bankers or their religions to be honest. The conspiracy theories are of even less interest to me.

But if someone believes that a group of Jewish bankers are controlling everything I’m not sure how that equates to hating all Jews. How can any sane person blame everyone of a certain religion for what a few bankers are doing?

How about we keep religion out of politics? I daresay Corbyn is an atheist, pretty sure Miliband is as well. I find that quite refreshing.

I prefer to get my information from Amnesty as to the state of the world:

So what ever people say, they are really antisemitic. #mccarthyism

Just heard on the radio that jezza was a member of a group for 10 years that believes the holocaust needs further investigation to uncover the truth with members sent to prison for anti-semitism acts. Jezza apparently can’t remember remarks/acts like that, even when he last met with the leaders (which was 2013 apparently) and/or if he even donated money to them.

He just can’t remember.

A tweet from 2012 should help him.

So a couple of weeks ago he was a Czech spy. Then he was a Russian stooge. A couple of days ago he did a Stalinist purge of one frontbencher. And today he's a rabid anti-Semite.

I wonder whats on for Easter Sunday? Corbyn supported Pontius Pilate and retweeted his call for Jesus' crucifixion in 33AD?

The tories must be really worried about the May elections for all this to flare up.

No, not 'whatever people say.' It's when people say, as one prize fool did on here: 'Even if Corbyn believes in the theory that some Jewish bankers are controlling everything or whatever, that doesn’t make him antisemitic.' That - as bonkers and ignorant as it is - is to repeat and defend one of the most classic forms of Jew hatred.

McCathyism, on the other hand (since you evidently have no clue), was the paranoid victimisation of supposed enemies of the state - many, incidentally, Jewish.

Aside from your evident paranoia, this is pure victim-blaming. Even your idol has apologised and admitted that the party has a problem with Jew hating.

Is it really worth a read? Looks like the ramblings of a swivel-eyed loony to me.

And you would be right. This fu ckwit also babbles on about the disproven and discredited conspiracy theories associated with Seth Rich and Pizzagate. The former has caused immense distress to Rich's family (remember a similar consequence with Lee Rigby's family?), and the latter got someone killed (at the hands of a lunatic who actually believed Pizzagate to be true).

It's mad - real 'no blood Bazza' mad.

Paranoid victimisation of supposed enemies of the state? Sounds accurate for levelling accusations of antisemitism against people who are critical of Israel's politics.

And how is the media crusade against Corbyn "victim blaming?" Your reply doesn't make sense.

Actually, yes it is. Despite what Verbal claims about the background of this guy - I had no idea who he was until last week so I can't comment on his history - the evidence he presents here is concrete. If you follow the link to the report of the Royal Courts of Justice ruling here (page 10), you'll see it in black and white. What Boris Johnson has been claiming about the certainty of the evidence that it is a novichok of Russian origin is completely at odds with the testimony of the Porton Down analyst to the RCJ...

"Blood samples from Sergei Skripal and Yulia Skripal were analysed and the

findings indicated exposure to a nerve agent or related compound. The samples

tested positive for the presence of a Novichok class nerve agent or closely

related agent. "

Johnson's interview yesterday...

"You argue that the source of this nerve agent, Novichok, is Russia. How did you manage to find it out so quickly? Does Britain possess samples of it?

Let me be clear with you … When I look at the evidence, I mean the people from Porton Down, the laboratory …

So they have the samples …

They do. And they were absolutely categorical and I asked the guy myself, I said, "Are you sure?" And he said there's no doubt."

Somebody here isn't telling the truth. And I know who my money is on.

Problem is if any politician dares to question what the government says or ask for more proof they are branded traitors and slaughtered by the press, as we have seen with Corbyn.

It is obviously most likely that Russia did it but you need rocks in your head to not question what evidence there is after the lies our security services told us about WMDs in Iraq. Unfortunately many on here illustrate how sheepish the public are.

You’re a paranoid loon. You can believe conspiracy theories about bankers without hating everyone of a certain religion. I understand how the theory can be used by anti semites as a way of fuelling hatred but believing some bizarre theory in itself doesn’t necessarily make you anti-Semitic.

Nonsense.

That court application was to obtain permission to take blood samples from the Skripals so that they can be independently tested by the international body. It was not necessary to provide evidence of what the nerve agent was in detail or to prove its provenance at all; in fact, that is precisely the question which the taking of blood for the independent testing is attempting to verify.

The court ruling does not prove Johnson was lying at all. It might suggest that not all the testing evidence was disclosed, which is probably correct for reasons of expediency, secrecy and pure practicality.

Those websites smack of paranoid delusion and the logic employed is simple-minded and wrong.

I assume you are referring to Jess Phillips. Well then I'm sold - it's not as if she's a disgruntled Blairite with an axe to grind against Corbyn is it. Oh, hang on.....

FFS this flaming of Corbyn over whatever they choose to smear him with this week is just getting so tired and predictable now, really it is. Three weeks ago he was a Czech spy, but they couldn't make that accusation stick because the 'source' was a deluded fantasist who claimed that Corbyn told him what Maggie Thatcher ate for breakfast each day and that he was also responsible for organising Live Aid. Then, paradoxically, he was a communist who was also a sympathiser for the authoritarian dictator of a corporate oligarchy. But, again, couldn't get that mud to stick because it's clearly a load of contradictory bullsh*t and it turns out he was actually just doing his job as leader of the opposition byt holding the govt to account. Oh he's an anti-semite again this week is he? Funny that Jewish Voice for Labour doesn't think so isn't it, hmmm?

I wonder what scandal the government are trying to distract us from this time? Could it possibly be the revelations of their ties to Cambridge Analytica, and the fact that they were given pre-warning of a warrant being granted so they could destroy all the evidence first?

Yes, you should hang on, because there's an awfully long drop from that high horse you're on. Jess Phillips is not Jewish. I know who Duckhunter meant but I'm not going to give you her name because you'll just find some other pathetic excuse to abuse her.

FFS this flaming of Corbyn over whatever they choose to smear him with this week is just getting so tired and predictable now, really it is.

Those Jews, eh? What shall we do with them?

You do understand that there was an unprecedented protest outside Parliament of leading British Jewish groups - including the Jewish Labour movement (founded 1903). Because if you don't get it, Corbyn himself is certainly getting the message, and has apologised for the regular doses of Jew-hating abuse emerging from some pockets of the Labour party.

He and the Labour leadership were ashamed that it had come to this. That's because the protesters were real people, with a real grievance. Dismissing them as part of a plot to discredit Corbyn is a bit whiffy in the circumstances, don't you think? I bet they were all bankers...and you know what that means.

Oh, and Jess Philips actually does have something to say about that, and depressingly it applies to your post (and to the cult-crazed fanboy and whoever the **** the other one is with his unhinged "so what if Corbyn believes Jews control the world")

It’s fair to say that English Jews, on the whole, vote conservative, a phenomenon that predates Corbyn. Thatcher was a hero for many - the most Jew-ish PM according to some- a fact not lost on sections of the left. The salience of Israel as an issue has only intensified the animosity between both sides - whether it’s triggering a load of halfwits and homers in the Jewish community who are prepared to defend the indefensible or hardening the self-righteousness of the left which has resulted in all kinds of murky and sinister conflations.

Margaret Hodge, no doubt a red Tory, calls Corbyn “The poster boy for anti semites”. Implies that the Chakrabarti report was a whitewash, still she won’t care it got her a tittle. Although the issue of antisemitism in the Labour party is an important one and obviously preoccupies a leader with an already weak grasp on his position, it is not the only one this moron is facing. He might even be glad that the argument seems to be moving on from his disgraceful response to the Salisbury attack, but his knee jerk defence of the Kremlin shows what is in his heart. He demonstrates all the power grabbing, anti-democratic actions that any tin pot Marxist would, within the Labour party and no one should forget that he is recognised as such by experts in that party.

Who can forget the actions of the Communist party of Great Britain at the last election? As their leader stated at the time:

The Communist party will not field candidates in the general election for first time in almost a century after suggesting Jeremy Corbyn will help achieve its "revolutionary" aims.

Superficial semantics over reasoned thought.

Your quote is a judge's two line summary of the evidence presented by one single witness, which would have been quite complex I expect. That witness, whose evidence was summed up in two lines, gave evidence based solely on their own testing and the base of their own knowledge. It was one witness. Johnson may have broader evidence - all witness evidence, plus secret service evidence not disclosed etc. which, overall, leaves him in no doubt. From that, these nut jobs conclude someone's lying and it's all a big conspiracy.

It wasn't necessary to present evidence that it was 100% a Novichok - whatever "Novichok" means; it seems slightly nebulous in any event, which renders this sort of semantic argument a fool's errand.

"concrete evidence of lies!!"

Parts of the left definitely have a problem –Jewish banker tropes are too old and well-known for anyone to plead innocence. They’ve been a staple of the left since the nineteenth century, even if they’ve been much more of a French thing and today draw alot of their power from Israel's behaviour as a nation state.

That said, it would be naïve to think that there aren’t elements weaponising it. There are examples all over social media of people who, no doubt, couldn’t give two f**ks about antisemitism and historically-speaking wouldn’t have been natural bedfellows for the Jewish cause yet are having a field day with this. Arguably the issue is being weaponised not only for party political ends but more generally for where you stand on the big cultural issues of the day (and Corbyn is seen as hostile to all things British).

Nobody is concluding anything but if a scientist says "novichok class or a closely related agent" that is what they conclude and it means there is not scientific evidence to say it is definitely Russian made Novichok. Scientists base their conclusions on their test results, not on an anti Russian agenda which the government obviously has.

Wether there is other evidence or not is s different matter, but on this point the loony conspiracy nutcase appears to be correct.

I get what you’re saying about other evidence, we can’t prove Boris is lying unless we are privy to all the evidence. But surely if we are going to speculate, we can only go on what is in the public domain and you have to say that on what information we have it does appear that he is misrepresenting the scientific evidence.

Politicians of all colours lie, eggagerate and twist the facts to suit their own agendas - it would be good to hear the facts from the actual scientists as to why it is definitely a Russian made agent. So far all I have found online is that it is most likely Russian made but could be recreated by other scientists with the appropriate resources. I haven’t seen any evidence that rules out the possibility of another country’s secret service carrying it out to make it look like Russia.

I agree with this too Shurlock. Clearly there are elements on the left that have a problem with antisemitism and I don't see anybody claiming that such a problem does not exist. But there is simply no real evidence that it is any more prevalent in the Labour party than in any other party currently...

Last autumn, the Institute for Jewish Policy Research carried out a comprehensive study which concluded that the level of antisemitism on the political left is consistent with the general population.

In 2015, a home affairs committee consisting of predominantly Tory MPs investigated allegations of antisemitism in the Labour party and concluded that "Despite significant press & public attention on the Labour party and a number of revelations regarding inappropriate social media content, there exists no reliable, empirical evidence to support the notion that there is a higher prevalence of antisemitic attitudes within the party than any other party".

With regards to the mural which has apparently sparked this latest 'outrage', even the Jewish Chronicle weren't convinced that it was even antisemitic when Corbyn's support for it was reported in 2015, describing it as simply depicting “a group of businessmen and bankers sitting around a Monopoly-style board and counting money” - no mention of any of them being Jewish at all.

Both the Jewish Voice for Labour and the Jewish Socialists have come out in support of Corbyn over the last 24 hours, which they undoubtedly would not do if the claim that antisemitism is rife and allowed to propagate in the party was true. Even the picture of the demonstrators outside parliament shows many of them actually supporting Corbyn rather than criticising him.

It's so obvious to anybody without blue tinted blinkers that this latest round of outrage is just another orchestrated attempt to smear and discredit Corbyn ahead of the upcoming local elections. One Tory activist was crowing on Twitter this morning (before strangely deleting his account) that it was a stroke of genius that they have been able to pull this off in the run up to the elections...

strokeofgenius1.png?resize=640%2C435&ssl=1

So, while I acknowledge that antisemitism is a problem throughout society, and I believe it needs to be tackled alongside all other kinds of racism/discrimination in all corners of society, forgive me if I'm not going to allow myself to be swept up in the current whirlwind of anti-Corbyn propaganda.

I agree with Shurlock's post, and Jeremy Corbyn's opinion that "jew hating" should be condemned and "stamped out" wherever it is found. I'd apply that to all types of prejudice, the very types of prejudice and hate exhibited by the type of people who are jumping on this band wagon purely because they hate Corbyn.

They just hate him more than Jewish people, this year at least http://www.thedailymash.co.uk/politics/politics-headlines/weve-always-cared-about-racism-say-people-who-happen-to-hate-corbyn-20180327146468

(what year is it by the way?)

Do people actually hate Corbyn? There's not much to actually hate - his hearts in the right place, but he's a fantasist and just seems completely unsuited to his role. Hate though? Hate is SUCH a strong word.

Oh yes, whataboutery - the great intellectual peak of political argument.

What in your paranoid worldview counts as an argument that Jew hating in the Labour party must be stamped out?

The investigation by the Institute for Jewish Policy last September concluded that instances of "jew hating" are more prevalent in right wing parties than in the Labour Party.

So why is it perfectly OK for the entire country to be discussing antisemitism in Labour, but when someone quite rightly points out that it is just as rife, if not more so, in other parties it can be just dismissed as whataboutery?

Apologies, the millionaires/billionaires who don't want higher taxes, the racists and nationalists, the Blairites, and gullible readers of the mail and sun. They do seem to. Maybe not hate, but actively despise.

Lol you are against prejudice and hate. Yeah that lack of bitterness and joyfulness just radiates through all your snidey posts. Love peace and harmony eh John

I admit, this week I am feeling quite snidey and negative. Although to be fair, most news is depressing so it's an easy trap to fall into.

Anyway, why lower yourself to responding to a sixth-former? How about going back to your busy thread on the nerve agent attack in Salisbury? x

You're just projecting feelings onto a random group of people - you're better than that.

Labour is one of two parties with a chance of winning the election. Anti-Semitism in Labour is slightly more newsworthy than Anti-Semitism in the EDL.
