Bonfire night 1955, we just beat Coventry 3-0 in the Division 3 South.

I was -25 years old.

A point behind Newport County, The9 will be pleased :) 6 behind Torquay my second team (oh hang on, we aren't proper football supporters if we support more than one team, sorry Turkish)

I recall it well, a week before I was christened

Suspect it will take time travel for Saints to ever play Newport again (also not sure I ever want that to happen).

My lasting memory of that match is Ruben Agboola getting his boot stuck in the net after sliding in and failing to prevent yet another goal. He couldn't get himself free for some time.

Good bit of detail, can't remember it myself. Anyway, in the end we rallied around Christmas time and did OK
