Why are you sneering at "soooo many" white middle class people being on the march ??
No I found it interesting that so many were so similar and yet they emphasise how important diversity is. It would help their cause if they happened to be a bit more diverse themselves...

Of course. United in diversity also amusing in the background considering soooo many white middle class attendees.

I can see a number of people in that photo whose skin tones and facial features are quite clearly not of pure 'white' origin. I can also see a big sign that says "Workers Liberty" on the side of the green gazebo, which is a pretty large clue to the social class of the people who erected it.

But yeah, apart from that, they're all just white and middle class aren't they :mcinnes:

This just reflects that most European countries have predominantly white populations, whereas the UK, because of it's colonial past, has an ethnically more diverse population. I wonder if our European neighbours fear hordes of muslims and Afro-Caribbean people descending on them from the UK?

Clearly those choosing to protest about Brexit are a diverse bunch, but what difference does it make if they happened to be all middle class and white. Do their opinions count for less than those of a more diverse background? It seems that along with Muslims, we have found another group of people that hypo disapproves of. You can see why Tommy Robinson appeals to him so much.

Strangely enough, of the few people that I know well who are strong Brexit supporters, most of them are white, middle class and would look out of place on that coach.

Still, this being Britain, the only people we take seriously when protesting are those who use violence as a means to an end - and they ted not to be decent, law abiding people.

Look at these absolute mugs. What an embarrassment, throw in a couple of people in fancy dress and it’s like a saints away end FFS.

A nurse who seems cheery. Don’t want mugs like her in our country. I want some well dressed cnt who doesn’t smile treating me when I’m knifed by one of these kids which is inevitable so I hear.

actually that looks quite diverse as a group, plenty of different ethnicities, genders, ages. as a way of looking at it, take a group of 5 adjacent people in that picture, and chances are you have some diversity in that 5. strange interpretation to use that picture and suggest there is a lack of diversity.

So are you a behavioural psychologist special trained to work out someone’s social class from a few random photographs? My sister a 63 year old widow who works in a low paid job was there with her son a carpenter and his girlfriend a school TA. Sadly I could not make this historic event but as a council house kid who failed the divisive 11plus I fully support it aims. Your ability to judge people based on bitter prejudice is reason enough to hold your views in contempt.

Lots of faux outrage from the usual suspects but deep down you know its true what the majority of the demographics were.

.

"This march wasn’t polite. At best, it was passive aggressive – a procession of the irked middle classes, who for decades have become accustomed to getting their way without having to bother to explain why they are obviously, always, right.

But fury with the Leave-voting ‘mob’ was never far from the surface. ‘Ooh Look! grammatically correct, properly spelt placards!’, read one placard, sporting some questionable capitalisation. ‘In March 1933, 17.3 million Germans Voted for Hitler’, read another."

If you mean Leave voters aren’t the sharpest tools in the shed, then yes, that’s a fair statement backed up by the demographics of the referendum result, as you put it. However, some of my family, who are strongly pro remain as they work in manufacturing and the automotive industry, some of whom left school at 16 to start a trade, would take issue with the ‘entitled middle class, white graduate’ tag. Still, if you want to have a debate on my three posts a day about all of the lies Leave told - the NHS bus, Leave.EU illegalities and Putin funding, Nissan etc, go ahead.

And the remain side told the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth....... Said no one ever

What is your opinion about the battle bus with the slogan about funding the NHS with the money saved from the EU on the side? As whoppers go, that one was a corker. Fell free to enlighten us as to what lies the Remain side told that were any where near that one.

Let's park the years of anti EU propaganda spread by The Mail and The Sun and the b/s about immigration.

As for hypo and his problem with the "middle class" remainers, you do realise that without their votes you would be governed by the very "dangerous" socialists you seem to have such a big problem with?

In a democracy all votes are supposed to be equal. That means Tommy Robinson's vote is worth the same as the middle class supporters of Remain that you struggle with. The Brexiteers are cra pping themselves because they realise that more and more people can see they were feed b/s by the leave campaign and more and more people are changing their minds.

If you made the mistake of believing anything that any politician said then more fool you.

Both sides promoted things that turned out to be untrue, this is correct. But the exaggeration of the economic effects of leaving put out by the Remain campaign pales into insignificance when compared to the endless list of complete untruths spouted by Leave.

And as UJ rightly points out - by engaging in such whataboutery, you are actually just reinforcing the case for a second referendum now that so many more facts are available.

Either way, politics in the UK are now totally kaput.

The British are showing their true selves obsessed with the class system which with such a diverse population now is really dead however, peeps are clinging onto the sinking boat for dear life. There was ever only two classes, working and upper. If you had to work for a living, pay your rent/mortgage, taxes etc you are working. The rest were upper.

The country is divided now and how the hell is this all going to be repaired?

If the government revoke Article 50 there will be hell and if they don’t there will be hell. The government are prepared for riots.

It could have been so totally different with several other countries looking keenly on.

The government may be prepared for riots but I am not sure that they would happen. Riots on political issues are not the English way. The authorities also tend to stamp pretty quickly on any kind of civil disobedience - witness the prosecutions of drivers on the recent go slow protest against the Brexit debate.

Everything currently is up for grabs and I am fully prepared to be proved wrong but I do not expect to see Brexit inspired riots.

We are now engaged in a war of attrition, as the Prime Minister seeks to achieve support for the toxic deal which she allowed the EU to impose on her and the referendum-defying Remainer horde in Parliament try to beat the truculent British public into submitting to their plan to keep us in the EU.

Spoken like a true Brit...

A 'true Brit' who is a leading member of a Loyalist political gang so extreme that it made the IRA look moderate - the IRA signed the Good Friday agreement; the DUP refused.

The DUP was directly involved in setting up the terrorist 'paramilitaries' Third Force and Ulster Resistance.

I'm hardly a defender of Corbyn, so the whataboutery is a bit lost on me, Jihadi John. But I don't think Corbyn went further than declaring terrorists in Ireland and the Middle East his 'friends'. Which was bad enough. But your messiah is in a different league.

Why do you have to listen to the Politicians - I would say far fewer people would listen to the **** they peddle, but will have read and seen what has happened this time around to form their opinions.

And yet your (remainers as a whole rather than you personablly) argument for a second referendum is predominantly because the population was lied to (by the politicians) during the run up to the first referendum so they were misinformed. You simply can't argue that in one breath and then state that we shouldn't listen to them in the next!

Cake and eat it springs to mind!

From the BBC: ( I highlighted the date, which does seem to sum the whole thing up )

"The petition calling for Article 50 to be revoked - and which has so far attracted 5.8 million signatures - will be debated on 1 April.

At the same time, MPs will also debate two other petitions - one calling for a second referendum on EU membership, another calling for the UK to leave the EU regardless of whether a deal has been approved."

No, the point is because they lied in the first one they shouldn't be listened to in the second one.

Since when did being white, middle class and educated become a crime? I thought this was all about kicking out johnny foreigner? If you dont have all these variously shadded, uneducuted benefits scourgers coming then surely that just leaves you with middle class white people! Or am I missing something?

It's not a crime but it is pretty hypocritical to bang on about diversity at a march populated predominantly by the same types of people.

True, but it's still a lot clearer what Brexit means now than back in 2016. It's not about anyone winning or losing, it's about us deciding what's best for our country.

If Brexit makes us poorer we all lose.
