None of today's performance was for the EU anyway. It was all for the electorate. There's an election tomorrow as well as next month.

It's not some sort of debating society,it's breakfast TV. When asked the answer is yes. It's not as if there's going to be any come back. I doubt they give a ****e what majority May gets, or who is PM - it makes no difference to them. The EU hardliners will be loving May's little outburst because it will push any moderates round to their view and make the EU's tough stance more pallitable to the European electorate - who they would give a ****e about.

All this talk of tactical voting and alliances on the left but it is pretty clear that May will win a landslide helped in no small part from huge switching from UKIP to the Tories. It happened last night and will happen in a big way next month.

UKIP+Tory vote 2015 will annihilate every other party in 2017.

And still the Corbynistas will blame every other #$#$ than their guy.

Don't forget... Not every lib dem voter is an arch remainer.

Polls around the 25 of April showed about 1 in the 5 lib dem voters going Tory.

Apparently not. The cult leadership is delighted with the results so far. McDonnell has just told Sky News that the party's losses are "not as bad as some were predicting."

Far more important to defeat the psephologists than the Tories.

Also its been noted that he was saying it's all about Corbyn. Therefore angling to get some one off the same ideology when he is forced out.

That wasn't the story when I posted, it was very early in the count

The funny thing about people celebrating their demise is they haven't seemed to have grasped why. It's not because their ideas were defeated, that their arguments were shown up, their ideas were discredited or that public opinion turned against their main policy. It was because they won the argument, their very reason to exist, even their name was about Britain leaving the EU. Personally I thought there was an opportunity for them to make headway in certain areas but the Tories are hoovering up votes even in these areas. A mixture of abandoned principles , chaotic leadership & Nigel stepping down has handed these voters to The Tories on a plate . Unless May ****s up Brexit they're finished.

Corbyn's Labour party have been all but wiped out as the governing party in the English counties, and Labour have lost control of Glasgow for the first time in 40 years. The most deprived ward in the entire UK (in supposedly Tory-unfriendly Scotland) has gone from Labour to Tory.

Still, all this will change when voters get to know Corbyn better. (Corbyn's own reaction to the disaster was to call himself 'Monsieur Zen'). And if not, the cult can always wheel out Diane Abbott to make stuff up. This, from her, on ITN earlier today:

Abbott: 'The net losses are about 50.'

ITN: 'They're 125.'

Abbott: 'Well the last time I looked they were about 100.'

I got home last night at 9.15pm after a long work day and could barely be arsed to vote. Glad I did though, only 10 votes in it at the end.

Why on Earth are Labour letting her do media appearances? I know the shadow front bench is a bunch of no-hopers but literally doing nothing would be better than having her visible.

Labour are pathetic and it's infuriating. We are basically a weak dictatorship at the moment because the opposition is that weak. May will get a massive majority and will rightly think she can do whatever the hell she wants.

After yesterday, labour are going back to their campaign rule book as this morning they are fighting back. Someone on BBC claiming that a vote for Labour is a vote to save the NHS

Labour is finished. Hopefully this GE will be a bit of a watershed where they get all but wiped out and these momentum fools take over what is left and a new centre left party is set up. The Lib Dems need a rebrand anyway, makes sense for a new labour type party to merge with them.

I'm happy for a Tory majority to see us through Brexit and let them live or die on its success. If Brexit is a failure then the Tories won't have much future afterwards.

Still banging on a about the specious laffer curve? The problem isnt taxation rates, its the loopholes the Gov deliberately write into the legislation which enables tax to be optional for multinational companies.

The NHS is in crisis. for real, not newspaper headlines. Its in crisis because 1. People are living longer and old people need more care 2. the population is growing 3. More diseases are treatable so sick people live longer (linked to but separate from point 1) 4. We dont train enough doctors and nurses.

Labour's pledge to spend more isnt the long term solution but it does at least ease the current situation. Its better than doing nothing, which is what the Tories are doing - not funding at the level needed to meet demand but refusing to make hard decisions about rationing / prioritising.

So it's curious why Ed Miliband didn't pledge as much money as the conservatives in the last election.

Some of us are old enough to remember that the lib dems is a rebrand, from last time the centre left a-listers bailed out of the Labour party and left it to the hard left.
