Puel ticked every one of their boxes, looked alright on paper and as it turns out alienated a significant chunk of the players, along with a portion of the fanbase. Yes, quite so. And I'd take another 2 years or so of the benefits a high profile manager like Tuchel would bring, Let's hope Les thinks so too. Perhaps the whole idea of "managerial stability" is a fanciful dream of the past - just like the notion of the "loyal" player is more likely a player without any better offers. I have no problem being used as a stepping stone as that means we've done very well as a club in the meantime. The alternative is mediocrity where you don't do well enough for them to move on. "When managers are appointed usually they want lots of changes. They want to bring their own staff, they want money to spend. If you go down that route you are putting everything you have built at risk." That has to impact who we will bring in and one the reason Puel was appointed. Would Tuchel work under those conditions?
