so what does that mean then ?

That Lander Sports have issued shares against outstanding debt - usually a good thing (not always though) as the person owed the debt believes they will get a bigger/better return from said company than just having their loaned money repaid.

However nothing to do with us directly, as we are not owned by Lander Sports, nor are they part of the security against any loans for our investment. Indirectly if majority owner (Gao) of Lander Sports does well, it's good for his personal wealth. Really need to understand who bought the shares and why?

It's the UK company that the family setup to purchase Saints. Nothing to do with Lander Sports China.

We don't yet know whether Lander Sports UK is our owner or not. Seems likely as the issuing of 184m £1 share is in exchange for equivalent debt to Lander Sports Investment Co., Ltd (a Hong Kong registered Company), and is pretty close to what Kat received.

Southampton Football Club Ltd is owned by St Mary's Football Group Ltd - owned by Kat. So either Lander Sports UK have acquired the shares in Southampton Football Club Ltd, or in St Mary's Football Group Ltd. Makes no odds.

Ms Gao is the only Director of Lander Sports UK.

Apparently there is a story in today's Birmingham Mail which puts into question the financing of West Midlands clubs (Vilia/Birmingham/WBA and Wolves) who are all owned by Chinese interests being able to get finance out of China where the Govt is becoming increasing strict in allowing funds to exit the country.

Presumably our new owners will be similarly affected

  • 3 weeks later...
But will he turn up for next weekend's cold windy day up at Stoke !?

Nope, he's probably only going to be over three times a season, his daughter on the other hand will be over far more often. Sounds like they do have cash, but expect that to divulge itself as business opportunities in the city as much as investment in the club.

So there's an account account named Ivanajewelry. Is that a company owned by the Gao's ?
I can't find much about it, other than it is based in Jakarta, so it could be. Wasn't it mentioned that Mr Gao had creditors or interests in Indonesia? I could be making that up, but it does ring a bell

What ever you say.

Pal.

Seems odd that the expectation is that the new owner could be a negative thing, but don’t let that stop you being a ****.

What expectation you weirdo? Muted applause isn't an expectation that the new owner is negative but people are hardly going to clap like seals just because they show up, people have to earn trust and support.

Someone needs to have a word about the normal standards of twittering by the English football supporter. When we lose 4 -0 to Bournemouth it may be best if someone vets her incoming before she sees it!

I think twitter will be something people read about in history books by the time that happens

Would be nice to hear from them at some point about their plans or why they have bought into the club. Something like a radio solent fans forum might be a useful time to ask some questions.

Not sure if Mr Gao actually speaks English, although Nelly appears to ok judging by her twitter responses (unless she has someone to write them). As an aside she may perhaps have a franchise to sell Ivana Trump jewelry in Asia going by her twitter handle?

Anyway, after the takeover Ralph did some media interviews and said words to the effect that as soon as the transfer window closed he would shortly thereafter make further comments explaining in more detail what benefits going forward we could expect from the takeover and indicated that these would be very good. Perhaps this is the reason Mr Gao is visiting at this time as Ralph must be due, if not overdue, to provide his update.

Mr Gao speaks no english and Nelly's is limited (as are their team). Believe this is being sorted though.
