Genius. Just watched on iPlayer. Right up there with The Thick Of It for me Gary.

A brilliant series - I'm convinced the writers get some their material from my place of work but I guess many of the situations are common to all large organisations.

Yes, John Morton was my tutor at Peter Symonds College. Not sure if he was a Saints fan though.

The writing is nothing on the previous series - they've lost the subtelty completely. Every scene and conversation relies on exactly the same gag (all these people are jabbering fools) delivered at an increasingly frenetic pace. If you haven't seen it, I recommend the first series. Actually go back to Twenty Twelve, which has an identical premise set around the run up to the 2012 Olympics - even better.

I think you'll find the hierarchy goes something like "people still watch the BBC?" and "I don't own a television" after that.

Because that wouldn't have occurred to me. Far from being there first I'm constantly there last with this kind of thing. To be able to demonstrate any knowledge at all was momentarily thrilling, but I will now go back to half watching Bake Off and Match of the Day (but only when we win).

It was very good, and Langham was excellent in it (as he was in The Thick Of It). Terrible business with him, probably means it never gets shown anywhere like Gold.
