Saints V Everton - Match Thread

It’s a carbon copy of the Brighton game except Everton equalised earlier. Poor poor management from a negative, hopeless manager. Much better performance but the momentum was sucked out of us by sitting back and messing about playing keep ball. Was so obvious what was going to happen.

There we have it. Everton have been utter sh!the for the entire half, yet somehow we have contrived to let them back in it.

Good finish, but FFS they have been so bad they should be dead and buried by now. Awful from us to allow that, but oh so predictable.

I very much doubt we will win this now.

VVD has been a f***** disgrace. That goal is mainly on him (and Bertrand dithering at the back instead of clearing it when he had the chance).

Doesn't matter that Saints have been far superior - still can't work the opposition goalkeeper and we look terrible at the back. What on earth has Yoshi/Stephens done wrong.

VVD is not half the [player before his injury.

Easily our best 45 minutes of football this season. Sigurdson's goal was a great shot no blame on Forster for that one but we should have closed him down quicker.

FFS that is gutting, we have to win this and totally deserve to be winning.

Totally agree but as soon as we scored we sat back and tapped it around as per Pell’s instructions against Brighton. We won’t get anywhere with this guy in charge.

yes, we only had 1 shot on target. Difference from other games, we scored it.

them coming back was obvious and we will do well to hang on. We certainly wont be making Pickford earn his wage that is for sure

we became less adventurous as the half went on...nothing new

There are more positives than negatives. If we attack them and go direct, we will win. Sit back and be patient and we’ll lose.

So we will lose as there’s no chance our idiot manager will change his ways. Even if we come out and nick a second we will then sit back for the inevitable Rooney equaliser in stoppage time.

We scored the shot though so that's progress..

TBF We've hit the post, Austin ****ed a good chance up and VVD, left totally open at a corner managed to put, wide when getting it on target would have been easier. Should have had a pen for handball to.

I must be watching a different game to you lot. You all keep crapping on about how we sit back and sit back and invite pressure. Pretty sure I've been watching us go forward again and again but without being able to find any end product.

And then they get a ridiculous worldy because we faff about one time to many.

Clearly not creating and converting more clear chances = sitting back sitting back.

I don't think we sat back quite as much as at Brighton but the basic point that we don't go for the jugular when on top with this ***t in charge is a totally valid one. Let's see if he learns his lesson and actually goes for it against a totally beatable side in the 2nd half.

It was easily our best 45 minutes of the season. End of. That doesn't mean it didn't have it's faults.
