WBA Build Up

He put in a couple of absolutely fantastic crosses first half.

Definite starter, but with Tadic on the other side I would put JWP middle and some pace out right, be that Redmond, Sims or possibly even Long.

He put in one particularly good cross that really Long should have buried.

I'm sorry, but that is nonsense. Ward prowse out in several excellent crosses, in the first half especially

I think maybe people's view of his overall game may be influenced by the free kick he took frpm just outside the box in the second half. I was thinking "come on Prowsey this is perfect for you, show the doubters you really are a dead-ball specialist".

Into the wall.

We really do need some magic at the moment, and a beautiful curling free kick into the top corner by our academy hero would have given everyone a lift....(and lifted us up to 14th)

IMHO:

-----------------------------McCarthy---------------------------

Cedric------------Stephens---------Hoedt------------Bertrand

--------------------Romeu---------Hojbjerg--------------------

--Ward-Prowse----------------------------------------Tadic----

-----------------------Gabbiadini/Boufal------------------------

----------------------------Carrillo-------------------------------

I expect what Pellegrino will actually do is recall Redmond and Forster (just for giggles) and we’ll lose 4-1, but he’ll be delighted as we had 58% possession (and say West Brom are a very good team with very good players and there’s only a small number of points between 8-10 teams etc etc, blah blah blah).

WBA are missing Krychowiak, Evans, Gibbs and Jay (who has a slight knock apparently).

With our team and the players they are missing, this is as clear an oppertunity as we're going to get for the remainder of the season.

Yep. I know we have said this a lot this year but this really is last chance saloon.

I probably should have read this before posting mine...

Evans is a big loss for them.

great line up. confused about PEH but willing to give MP benefit of the doubt - could be tactical, slight injury to PEH, whatever. Good decision to start Lemina and Boufal, as well as JWP. I’m optimistic given Albion’s injuries.

Other than PEH over Romeu (Romeu has been sh** this season) I like that team, Tadic/Boufal in the same lineup however is problematic, both have to ensure they work harder when not in possesion. JWP might be more central which could be a weak point as i liked him on the right as his delivery and threat is far greater.

Carillo needs to ensure he links well, even floating balls into the box to him will be ineffective against West Brom's tall XI - we need to get in behind and provide runners, Carillo should simply be the man to ensure we dominate in WBA half.

Key threat from us will be from Bertrand and Cedric, when they both play we are a far greater team, that will be where our best chance of a win will come from.

Are we now criticising him for playing an extra attacking creative player?

No problems with an extra attacking player tbh, but Tadic was pretty bad on Wednesday (mind you, so was Boufal). Like others, i have to say Romeu is a shadow of his former self and Hoj should have been in. Oh well, let's see..
