If Rickie Lambert came out of retirement...

Yep happy to pay him to sit in the treatment room with a bad back.

I think this a great idea we should take further maybe we could get Channon in, on a short term deal to the end of the season, to give us a bit of pace upfront?

Maybe we could tempt MLT to come out of retirement to save us with a bit of relegation magic.

We could shore up the back line by getting Claus Lundekvam and killer to turn out as well..

A fully fit Rickie in his prime? Is this a trick question?

No the OP is advocating quite the opposite. Big, fat, unfit Rickie, the one that is currently retired. Not the one that you're thinking about!

I don't think taking on someone with a spine that cannot even sustain a round of golf, or in any way train without seizing up would be a good idea.

Let's stick with the guy who has scored goals in Ligue 1 and played in the Champions League.

Yes, he's exactly the strike partner Phil Boyer needs.

Not so sure. I think Ted MacDougall would be better given the option of playing alongside Lambert.

Don't suppose anyone wants Nivea to come out of retirement as well do they ? It seems his advertising career is now over.

Lambert and us were awesome for each other.

We managed to wring every last drop out of the latter part of his career, but unfortunately his time playing is done now.

That said, I reckon he'll make an excellent coach, if he chooses to go that route.

He may soon have to make ends meet plying his trade as an escort in Blackpool if he wants to keep the basketball court...

Penalty taking coach, wtf is that. Shall we have a throw in coach, or a goal kick coach. Is there another club in the country with a penalty taking coach?

I've long believed that we need a specialist player advisor in charge of "not getting tattooed" and "avoidance of f*cking idiotic haircuts".

Pretty sure Lambert has tattoos. I know one of his best mates from his time here - Danny Fox - had his arms covered in them.

I know. Loads of professional footballers seem to be covered in them, surely more than in the general population. Although I don't subscribe to the "football players as rôle models" theory, that is one thing I'd hope young kids wouldn't follow. That and the prattish haircuts which seem to be all but compulsory.

How many at Saints have prattish haircuts?
