Safe Standing

Interesting that a deputation from Liverpool Supporters Groups, including some who had lost loved ones at Hillsbrough, visited Celtic Park recently to look at their Safe Standing area.

By all accounts the consensus was positive.

I wonder if this be the start of a softening of attitudes towards the principle?

I reckon that 10% of stadium capacity should be made available to those who prefer to stand.

A fair proportion already do in any event

Everton's new stadium designs released today had two out of three that included safe standing. I actually wouldn't be surprised if they were the first top flight club allowed to have it too, since it'd be a major political coup for whichever government that did it to allow safe standing, and to allow it in the city where the biggest opposition was, with the blessing of the families of those involved.

The sooner we return to solid banks of 20,000 young, working class men stood singing their teams' anthems, rather than gaggles of bankers in the hospitality circle wolfing grilled chicken and nasty prosecco, and gormless phone-licking tourists at grounds, the better.

Agree. Let's stop sending our children to these namby pamby academy schools to learn 'emotional studies' and 'communication technology'. Get them off the breast milk and down the lead mines FFS!

Yes its straight choice between the two. I see Man U will have £15 tickets for under 25s next season in a certain part of the ground for all games, something every football club should do.
