I think the amount of penalties given so far -most involving VAR - highlight what we all knew regarding the amount of going’s on in the penalty box that is missed by the officials on the pitch

How many have been awarded by VAR?

Does on the line mean goal? Or throw in? Maybe if half his foot was in and half on the line, but half his foot out and half on the line should be outside for me.

What happens at throw ins is irrelevant

Peru, France, Australia. Off top of my head. Sure there are more with VAR involvement

Obviously, Kane should have had one as should Mitrovic

Also, used to overturn a penalty award to Brazil.

Edit - BBC claim from a few days ago that 4 of the first 10 penalties were awarded by VAR

Harsh pen, though if you go to ground like that, bad things happen.

My bookie is not offering odds on a pen in a game but already more than last World Cup. Clearly the trend along with less cards.

It’s made the games better. Who wants yellow cards thrown around like confetti?

Without them you get perpetual fouling from likes of Korea, Costa Rica, Panama

You may not like them, but you have to respect them. Against the odds but they delivered, will have taken a lot of confidence from that and will be bloody difficult to beat now.
