Summer 2018 - Other teams Manager/transfer business

Is he your boyfriend or something?

Why on earth would you post that on a thread which is about other teams' transfer business this summer in response to a post I made about our former head of recruitment's latest transfer business at his new club this summer? I'll give you the benefit of the doubt this time and assume you are either drunk or have some personal issues.

All these rumours concerning West Ham...you have to wonder where the money is coming from to fund them all or if it’s all nonsense. Has there been a surge in dildo sales?

Not that _I'm_ aware of. Dildo's tend to be very long lasting, it's the ones with electric motors that are a typical, modern piece of technology..

Here we go again, another example of someone posting without thinking first. Is this post giving us information on transfer news? No. Is it entertaining? No. Is it more mindless crap without any relevance? Yes, sadly.

Brentford reject Cherries bid for Mepham.

BRENTFORD REJECT BID

Sky sources understand Brentford have rejected a £10m offer from Bournemouth for Chris Mepham.

We understand the offer was not close to the Bees’ valuation of the player. Brentford rejected a £5.5m offer from Bournemouth for Mepham in January.

@SkyKaveh: West Ham back in talks to sign Javier Pastore from PSG. Talks at an advanced stage.

List of players the Wires have been strongly linked to is pretty strong. Clearly they won't get all of them but one of Mawson/Diop and Pastore/Anderson plus Fabianski and in addition to Fredericks would represent some very solid business in the face of their usual shambolic transfer windows. Sullivan must have been marginalised.

Fakianski

Mawson

Diop

Anderson

Pastore

Maddison

Newcastle's rumoured £40m transfer kitty....

RAFA'S BUDGET

Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez will be handed a £40m transfer kitty this summer, according to the Newcastle Chronicle.

The Magpies' lack of spending was criticised last season, but the newspaper reports Benitez will be handed greater room to add to his squad ahead of the new campaign.

And that figure will be topped-up should players leave St James' Park.

Diop set for West Ham Medical.

Sky sources understand Issa Diop is due in London today to have a medical at West Ham.

We reported last Wednesday that a €25m fee was agreed for the player with Toulouse.

Monaco, Marseille, RB Leipzig and Sevilla also wanted to sign the 21-year-old centre-back.

Everton want defenders, centre-mid & winger.

EVERTON WANT DEFENDERS, WINGER

Sky Sports News understands that Everton have prioritised signing a centre half and a winger in the current transfer window as well as a left back.

Last week we revealed that Everton are interested in German international Marvin Plattenhardt as they look to bring in a long term successor to Leighton Baines.

On top of that they are looking to strengthen their options at centre half. Phil Jagielka, Everton’s most dependable central defender last season, turns 36 on 17th Augus, Michael Keane endured a mixed first campaign after his £25m move from Burnley and Ashley Williams didn’t figure again for previous manager Sam Allardyce after being sent off in the 2-1 defeat at Burnley on March 3.

While they retain an interest in bringing in a central midfielder, with William Carvalho a target. Greater productivity from wide areas is a key area they are looking to address with Marco Silva favouring a 4-3-3 formation.

Everton looking at Gelson Martins...

EVERTON EYE MARTINS SWOOP

Everton are keen on signing Sporting Lisbon winger Gelson Martins, according to the Daily Telegraph.

Martins is one of several players who is seeking to terminate his contract at the club this week, and the 23-year-old - who is part of Portugal's World Cup squad - is attracting interest from plenty of clubs across Europe.

Marcel Brands, Everton's new sporting director, and manager Marco Silva have identified Martins as a key target having not yet added a player to the squad.

The Blues are also monitoring the highly-rated young Ajax defender Matthijs De Ligt, who could cost as much as £50m.

Don't like the way Wolves have done it, albeit it is clever. Get players on his books to sign for them and take artificially low wages (in the scheme of things) to stay within FFP, until they get promoted. Maybe it is also that I think a lot of agents do little good for the game.

J-Rod back to Burnley would make so much sense.

RODRIGUEZ-BURNLEY UPDATE

There have been talks between West Brom and Burnley over the sale of striker Jay Rodriguez, according to Sky sources.

However, the two clubs are very far apart in terms of a valuation and the negotiations have reached a stalemate.

The player would be keen on a return to Burnley, but the Baggies want in excess of £18m for the forward.

£12m!!

Why you always need to add 10-20% on? You did same with Mane when he joined Liverpool for £30m?

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-4659072/amp/Jay-Rodriguez-joins-West-Brom-Southampton-12m.html

Oh dear.. Glasgow is losing his touch

You know transfers come with guaranteed money and then potential (but not always fulfilled clauses that hit targets and raise the price don't you...?

Sadio Mane fee potentially rises to £38.5m...

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2016/06/27/liverpool-could-end-up-paying-385m-for-sadio-mane/

Why do you continue bringing this up even though it keeps being explained to you that the £30m figure some media outlets used was likely to be the guaranteed money, the rest is in potential fees.

Read the rest of my post and all the other links I provided.

For example...

Sky Sports News HQ understands that Rodriguez has joined the Baggies for an initial £12m, with the deal potentially rising to £15m.

Are you saying that is high or low? Saints sold him for £15m.

I'm just amazed at current level of player transfer inflation it only few years ago 12 million got you a good player (or Shane Long) now it looks like you have to spend 20 million plus to get an OK player It feels like you can make a profit on any half competent footballer these days.

Wolves managed to make a £2-3m profit on a player they'd only just spent £10m on. Crazy times.

http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11700/11410789/southampton-consider-move-for-amadou-haidara

Southampton are considering a move for Red Bull Salzburg's highly-rated midfielder Amadou Haidara, Sky Sports News understands.

The 20 year-old Mali international is valued at around £15m and was one of Salzburg's standout talents last season, scoring eight goals in 55 appearances.

Haidara helped Salzburg win the Austrian Bundesliga by 13 points last season, while also playing a part in their path to the semi-finals of the Europa League.

He made his senior debut for the Mali national team last year in a World Cup Qualifier against Ivory Coast.

Southampton are yet to make a signing in the summer transfer window, although they did reward Mark Hughes with a long-term contract after he helped to keep them in the Premier League last season.

They were disappointed on Tuesday when Norwich midfielder James Maddison turned them down in order to join Leicester, according to Sky sources.

Strangely we do seem to be after another CM, we've been linked with quite a few. Would suggest someone is moving on...
