Dawson & Foster keeping it classy at WBA.

crap behaviour though no doubt had we gone down we would have had similar behaviour from some of our players. Always annoys me when players from relegated clubs seem to take no responsibility for what happened or feel the need to try help sort out the problem they helped create but seem to feel they just deserve to go to another PL club instead...c u n t s

Intrigued to see how Arsenal do next year. They seem to be actually addressing the positions that needed fixing for years.

ARSENAL CLOSE ON TORREIRA

Arsenal will complete their deal to sign Uruguay international Lucas Torreira in the next seven days, reports the Mail on Sunday.

Unai Emery’s overhaul of the Gunners is set to continue with the £25m acquisition of the Sampdoria midfielder.

The fee with the Serie A club is close to being agreed and the deal will be announced once Uruguay’s participation at this summer’s World Cup concludes.

Wolves keen on Quintero

AMBITIOUS Wolves are trying to pull of a major transfer coup with a move for Colombia star Juan Quintero.

Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo, who used to play and boss Porto, knows Quintero from his connections there

Quintero, 25, is still owned by the Portuguese club but has been loaned out the last three years to Rennes,Independiente Medellín and most recently River Plate.

The attacking midfielder has now caught the eye at the World Cup with one goal and two assists after playing in all three of Colombia’s matches.Quintero is now in line to start against England in Tuesday’s last 16 tie.

Wolves face stiff competition for Quintero from Spanish giants Real Madrid and Premier League rivals Spurs.

But Mirror Sport understands Jorge Mendes is working behind the scenes to try and get it done.

Superagent Mendes has close ties to Molineux as owners wealthy Chinese owners Fosun have a stake in his agency

Their strong links have seen the likes of midfielder Ruben Neves and forward Diogo Jota join the Molineux club

Neves was a key player in Santo’s title-winning campaign last year in the Championship and Wolves want to keep him on a new five-year contract

Neves, 21, was Wolves’s player of the season last year and was named in the PFA Championship team of the year.

City closing in on Mahrez...

Mahrez excused from training as City close in on deal

Manchester City target Riyad Mahrez has been excused from Leicester’s pre-season training until next week.

It increases the likelihood of the star never pulling on Foxes’ colours again as the champions continue to chase him.

Manchester City were close in January but refused to meet Leicester’s £80million price tag despite multiple bids.

Now the clubs are inching towards a deal with the 2016 PFA player of the year still having his heart set on a switch to the Etihad Stadium.

Leicester’s squad returned for the start of pre-season today.

But the 10 players who have been on World Cup duty, and those in international friendlies, have all been given extra time off - including Mahrez, who played in Algeria’s 3-0 friendly loss in Portugal on June 7.

They are excused from this week’s training before Claude Puel’s squad head to a training camp in France next week.

Mahrez is then due to link up with the team but it is understood a deal with Pep Guardiola’s side could be struck by then as Leicester don’t want the issue to drag on throughout pre-season.

When Manchester City failed to land Mahrez in January ,the star went AWOL and missed two games, neither of which Leicester won as boss Puel admitted the fiasco affected them.

Looks like the decline is on for Lallana. I wonder where he will end up it smells like a west ham signing to me..

https://www.teamtalk.com/news/liverpool-ready-to-listen-to-offers-for-klopp-favourite-as-star-faces-up-to-uncertain-future

The Echo goes on to claim that if Lallana leaves, Liverpool may only be able to recoup around half of the £25m they paid Southampton for him.

Surely they'd get more than that?

Not so sure, over 30, bags of injuries...not someone you're going to splash huge amounts of cash on really. Loan move would be most likely if Liverpool really don't want to take the hit on the nose. Lallana needs to prove he can still play to some sort of useful extent..

A return to his spiritual home at Bournemouth?

A return to his spiritual home at Bournemouth?

Get the feeling that Howe would do him a world of good. Wasn't Surman in a bit of a decline when Bournemouth signed him?

Still he's been at Liverpool for 4 seasons, don't know what his contract situation is though. Might even welcome a move.

Arsenal signing imminent...

Papastathopoulos arrives in England

Borussia Dortmund defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos is finally set to complete his switch to Arsenal after arriving in the UK.

The 30-year-old posted on his Instagram Story from Kalamata airport on Sunday as he said goodbye to his home town, and now he’s set to become new Gunners boss Unai Emery’s third major arrival of the summer following on from Stephan Lichtsteiner and Bernd Leno.

Centre-back Papastathopoulos has won 79 caps for his country, and has long been expected to tie up his move to the Emirates Stadium, which is expected “soon” according to Sky Sports.

Newcastle in talks for Plea

PLEA LATEST…

Sky sources understand Newcastle are in talks with Nice to sign forward Alassane Plea.

We’re told Newcastle have already had one bid rejected but remain interested in the player.

Plea didn’t turn up for first day of pre-season training at Nice yesterday.

West Ham also want to sign the 25-year-old and have made a bid of their own.

City closing in on Jorginho. (Interesting little note about who Napoli want as a replacement -- It's not Lemina).

Sky sources understand talks are continuing between Manchester City and Napoli over the signing of midfielder Jorginho

There have been two potentially significant developments in the transfer. Firstly, Jorginho has not been included in Napoli’s initial squad list for a pre-season training camp in Northern Italy.

Also, Sky in Italy understand Real Betis midfielder Fabian Ruiz – seen as Jorginho’s replacement – is set to have a medical with Napoli after a deal was agreed.

My Leicester supporting mate reckons they’re interested in Grealish as well.

Heard that too. Certainly can afford him after selling Mahrez.

Grealish / Maddison / Roberts would be an interesting re-jig of their attack.

West Ham bid for Bruno Fernandes.

WEST HAM MAKE £20M FERNANDES BID

West Ham United have made an offer to sign Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes, according to Sky sources.

The bid is around £20m, with Sporting looking for £25m.

One other unnamed Premier League has shown concrete interest and it is thought Atletico Madrid are also keen.

Fernandes played for Portugal at the World Cup and was one of a number of players who asked for his Sporting contract to be terminated.

The player would have been available for free, but a compromise is being worked on whereby the club would receive a cut price transfer fee.

Fulham in for Mitrovic.

FULHAM IN MITROVIC TALKS

Fulham are in talks with Newcastle to sign Aleksandar Mitrovic and are confident of concluding a deal for the striker, SSN understands.

The Magpies are prepared to sell the Serbian, who helped fire the Whites into the Premier League during an explosive loan spell last season, but want upwards of £20m for his transfer.

Crystal Palace have also been interested in Mitrovic, but the player is understood to want to continue his successful stay spell at Craven Cottage and Fulham are not concerned about rival bids at this stage.

Mitrovic enjoys a good relationship with the Whites boss Slavisa Jokanovic - a fellow Serb – and scored 12 Championship goals after joining the club on loan on Deadline Day of the winter transfer window.

Newcastle, meanwhile, are interested in replacing Mitrovic with Nice striker Alessane Plea – also a name on Fulham’s list – but face competition from West Ham.
