For all Biden’s faults, there is absolutely no comparison between Trump and Biden. False equivalence at its finest.

Yes idiots like Jonny love to focus on people’s faults that will never meet his ideological perfection.Biden will do and won’t scare moderates like Sanders.

The point is its a rubbish choice which it absolutely is. Million of people in America and those are the best two candidates they can muster. It's pathetic.

I'm quite surprised that the Republicans didn't oust Trump a couple of years back. They might have had a chance in November

but the bloke is obviously a megalomaniac nutter. Biden shouldn't be president either, he'll just get pushed around by the leftist loonies.

Who’s pushing Biden around? Leftist loonies? I guess that’s why the ‘leftist loonies’ can’t stand him [emoji38]
He does have to appease a load of them in order to win though. Its why the nominees were tying themselves in knots doing things like speaking in Spanish during the campaign.

Stands to reason. He'll be 78 if he gets elected and he's already showing some signs of senility apparently. So at the end of his term at 82 (if he ever get's that far) he'll be a vegetable likely as not and people will be telling him what to do.

But Biden and Trump are not equally as bad, right?
It depends what you mean by that. If Biden actually does have some form of dementia as some have suggested or is unwell to the point that he can't actually do the job then I think that's pretty awful. Something like that would be comparable to the much publicised failings of trump. Why the Democrats couldn't just get in some bog standard safeish candidate like Corey booker I'll never know.

He seems to think (or is being told) he has to take on a female vice president who'll probably become America's first female president before 2024.

Biden won't last 4 years.

Its an incredibly simple question: in the forthcoming presidential elections, would you prefer a Biden presidency or a Trump presidency. Millions of people will be voting and have that simple binary choice.

So you haven’t answered my question. Running with your little flight of fancy and he’s going to be a vegetable, why would he pushed around by leftist loons? Why not centrists given thats the wing of the party he’s unashamedly and unapologetically from.

Well you'd have to vote for whoever has a better option for vice-president wouldn't you. Doubt if either of the old guys would still be in power in 2024.

It's not that simple and even if it were, it's a different question from the one you asked earlier.

It’s incredibly simple. But hey you don’t want to answer the question. Fair enough.
It's a different question from the one you originally asked. If we could guarantee that Biden was healthy, that he didn't have any cognitive impairments and that he wouldn't be incapacitated shortly after being elected then he'd probably be the better choice. It should also be hoped that he doesn't make any moves to try to appease the rabid intersectional bigots like AOC, ilhan omar et al. Seems they are voting for him regardless anyway so that's a good start. Edited by hypochondriac

You must have not seen that absolutely embarrassing display during the debates? If you had you wouldn't be making fun of it.

I saw it -and anyone with the slightest understanding of US politics knows politicians from both sides of the political divide appeal to voters in Spanish. Marco Rubio made it a central pillar of his presidential primary campaign in 2016, especially in attacking fellow Republican frontrunner Ted Cruz. Even Jeb Bush was flouting his Spanish skills.

It wasnt about the speaking of Spanish, it was the disingenuous manner in which it was done which was widely derided at the time so no reason to go into the details. Anyway that was just one example but it highlighted the lengths that some candidates were going to in order to win. It seems that for some, virtue signalling and paying lip service to ridiculous concepts like unconscious bias and reparations were more important than trying to appeal to middle America. If Biden wants to win, let's hope he has recognised the folly of that tactic.

If ? How can he not win ? The only way that he won't is that for some reason he isn't the democratic candidate. He could run his campaign in Urdu and still win.Unless of course the opposition isn't Trump. Perhaps the GOP grandees will soon see that he just cannot win and that they'll lose the senate as well.

Wasn't hillary given something like a 90% chance of victory last time? Loads of things could happen between now and November which derail Biden. This latest assault allegation for one.

None of the several allegations stopped Trump winning, anyway 1993 seriously? Clinton is difficult to explain, perhaps yer average backwoods american just wouldn't vote for a woman and thus she lost Wisconsin, Michigan etc against all odds. Warren was probably a better candidate than Biden, favourite at one time I believe but people just didn't vote for her in the primaries.

Don't forget that Trump will lie and cheat and act like a scared dictator, and will probably be helped by Putin again. It won't be a fair election in any way at all.

Might help him if he stuck to lying and cheating instead of spouting bolloaks all of the time. He'd be better off saying nothing at all really.

Warren? She was a joke candidate. Tulsi gabbard seemed to be the best of the lot imo but the far left hated her for some reason.

He's cancelled Coronavirus press conferences now because they ask awkward questions and don't just print what he tells them to. He's been using them as a campaign forum but it's not working.

I think there's a strong possibility he'll replace them with Presidential Addresses with no press or questions. He can't cope with any opposition or scrutiny and will do anything to have absolute control.

They just don’t get his sarcasm. Imagine his aides have huge sigh of relief although no doubt will just mean more ramblings on Twitter.

I can't see the allegation derailing Biden, it's not as if Trump can weigh in on the subject is it.

I'm not saying it will but to give the election to Biden at this stage as a certainty is naive.
Indeed. The Trump camp will go into full attack mode with a completely made-up story. Truth doesnt matter. Give your supporters what they want to hear and they'll believe anything.

My guess is blaming the Chinese for Covid which reeked havoc despite the brilliant effort by Trump and because Biden encouraged the Chinese, proving a strong xenophobic line is needed.

Yeah, he won't be able to point to the economy as it is ruins due to Covid. He would have been hoping for Sanders so he could run communist/socialist attacks.

With the economy a mess and a moderate opponent he will go down the racism route to trigger division.

He's not just running for President, he's running to stay out of prison.

"During Monday's Covid-19 news conference, a reporter noted that the state of Maryland's emergency hotline had received hundreds of calls in recent days seeking guidance about Mr Trump's comments.

"I can't imagine why," the president said, moving quickly on. "I can't imagine that."

When asked whether he took responsibility at all for the increase in calls, Mr Trump replied: "No, I don't.""

An amazing interview this lunchtime with some female supporter of Trump - I think that her name was Mrs Guided Missile or something.

Apparently Trump wasnt being sarcastic when he talked about Dettol injections. He thought he was being sarcastic but Mrs GM claimed that he wasnt. He was just putting forward suggestions to be investigated and the Lying media misreported it. I can just see the Noble (sic - Trump's spelling of Nobel) prize committee viewing his application now.

Its all so clear now .....

If that were true then of itself it would be evidence of a troubled mind. The idea that by riffing random thoughts publicly he might come up with a brilliant, yet conceptually very simple, idea that has eluded all the world’s best subject matter experts....
