Be great if all these Redmond sympathisers could pop together a YouTube highlights reel of his best bits?

I've obviously missed alot of the majestic stuff that "Henry" has been delivering this past 2 seasons.

If possible keep the video below 30-40 minutes as I do have a short attention span

Im not surprised you don't have any attention span as you have the brain of a goldfish. You are a goldfish....wait 3 seconds and read this again....you are a goldfish. I hope that helps you remember who you are

True but JWP only managed 4 goals in 43 games that season and he got to take most of the set pieces when he was on the pitch...

and 5 assists............... the fact that he took most of the set pieces is irrelevant, as soon as an opposing player touches the ball the assist is from the corner or free kick is negated unless its a ricochet, if a free kick hits the keeper who fails to hold it and someone puts the loose ball in the net its an assist.

Not sure where the comparison is supposed to be going? JWP started 31 games that season Redmond 39......... as a left winger the 8 goals were ok, but the 1 assist is pretty shabby especially as Bertrand got 5 assists from a playing position behind Redmond, and that Serbian chap we had playing predominantly on the other wing got 8 assists but alas only 3 goals (but then he could have had more if he didn't fanny about as much as he did in the box).

He was correct on that occasion. I think he is totally wrong with Redmond and can suggest his brain has deteriorated greatly since then. Im sure he will take it as a joke as I dont post to intentionally hurt anyones feelings, unless they are bullying or out of order.

yes I know that, but he also spent less than 2 k mins on the field that season, Redmond managed nearly 5 k mins

Maybe because the manager thought he didn’t contribute as much. There’s a radical thought...

maybe, 4 goals 5 assist in 2 k mins compared to 8 goals and 1 assist in 5 k mins, I guess yeah he does out score JWP only by like 0.02 % per 90 min though, hardly what you would call spectacular considering Redmonds assist rate in only 0.3 % per 90 min during that season :D and despite player loads less JWP in the next season both out scores and out assist dear Redmond... shocking that

I would say its more JWP is taken for granted and managers and fans do not appreciate just how much he does compared to the players ppl say should be starting ahead of him, since Koeman and Poch left.

JWP played even fewer minutes under Koeman and Poch pal. So every manager we’ve had has taken him for granted and not appreciated his contribution?

Maybe go and start another virtue signalling thread about how ashamed you are of Heisenbergs treatment of Redmond.

Since Redmond has been at Saints, JWP is 1 goal behind and 7 assists ahead of dear Redmond, he also has played 1.7 k less mins than Redmond and has a combined better goals per 90 min and assists per 90 min and the latter JWP is absolutely destroying Redmond on.

I just might, how about you going to a top 4 clubs forum there you might be able to add something positive instead of your constant negative views of everything Saints. There again I suspect you will find something to moan or pick at on there. Oh by the way its nice that you finish your post with your name, Wally is much less formal than Redarmy.

There’s a reason why managers don’t pick JWP and that’s because they use their eyes and judgment. Thankfully they don’t play football on a spreadsheet with crude numbers that tell only part of the story.

Of course set pieces aren't irrelevant if you take the majority of free kicks and corners ( not to mention the odd penalty) it increases your chances of getting goals and assists over a player who never takes any.

Not really Redmond only has 4 more Apps than JWP, stayed on the pitch Longer, yet the better out of the two was clearly JWP over the length of two season, in fact, since they both started playing, JWP has more prem goals and assist than Redmond even though he has less prem games, and so far in 2 games this season JWP has also played better and created more than Redmond, some more stats for you, ready?, only stats Redmond beats JWP at is dribbling, and acceleration and a slight bit more pace. he has nothing else over JWP, in fact on every thing else JWP is way better. Vision, creativity, Passing, tackling, positioning, team play, work rate, Stamina, marking, corners free kicks ,pens and intelligence he is so far ahead of Redmond its like going to the moon and back

JWP has taken 2 Pens for us in his time at Saints, took 2 scored 2, would u even trust Redmond from the spot when a simple 5 - 10 yard pass is complicated enough? and free kicks when 5 - 10 yards is complicated for Redmond, a pass over 11 yards would probs give him a seizure, I think that says enough about Redmond to be honest, Reason why he don't take them when on the field and JWP does, is cause Redmond cant take them.

Odd that JWP always crops up in Redmond chats, mainly cos they are both ****e

I wouldn't say ****e, decent, but out of the two I know who I would rather have playing, and its the one that brings more to the team than just running at ppl and then fireing blanks and screaming at every one cause he lost the ball.

Which ones that?

ill rather JWP on the pitch than Redmond, reasons?

Better passing, tackling, positioning, vision, his corners and free kicks, his organisations skills in the midfield, and his defensive work, the fact i believe he will pick out Ings more than Redmond who will be lucky to get 3 assists this season like last season, Is more motivating than the screamer Redmond, and is more likely to do a good job rather than just a decent job. but then I want us to play 4231 and in this formation JWP on the right offers more than Redmond on the right as Moi and Armstrong will be left and central so only the RM space will be open as I hope MH wont use the horrid 532 much more.

who would u rather have? and why? I wont slate or nothing, just this is a forum so curious who you would pick

This poses a difficult choice. They are not the same kind of players. Redmond is meant to be about counter attacking pace and tricks and JWP the steady english midfielder that is a dead ball specialist. The fact i've seen very little of this from both, I wouldn't like to say. But given JWP will probably be up against, Lemina, Armstrong, Rom, Davis in his CM role and Redmond against Moi in his Winger role, i'd say Redmond would be in my XI and JWP not.

Personally I don't rate either of them, JWP is a myth and Redmond doesn't do anything. Hope they prove me wrong.

well I cant argue with that, none of it and agree that I don't really rate either that highly.

But we have to make use of what we have, and JWP dead balls are not that bad, we missed a few sitters against Everton because of his set pieces which could / would have won us the game had Austin / Ings not missed the chances not to mention a few through balls long balls and about 3 crosses into the box that could have been scored off ( he did create pretty much every thing we did against Everton while Redmond created not one single chance ), he got 2 goals from free kicks last season, good enough for me as no one else got more than 1 in the league.

Either way I would rather Sims over both of them but that's a different story.

Redmond & SFC have been so poor the past 2 years that a winger with 11 unsuccessfull dribbles, no shots, no assists and no goals is considered "starting the season extremely well"

Amazing how quickly fans expectations have dropped

Depressing really

Please don`t quote the troll as i have him on ignore as he has me too i believe, yet still cant resist mentioning me in someway

He's not getting as many bites as he used to, I guess that's how far his expectations have dropped if he's happy with his trolling performances so far this season.

He’s trying really hard though so I give him 7.5/10 even though his bite-rate has dropped to 0.12/posting. He’s past his prime but you can still coach inflammatory posting so he may get better.

Do people actually think they’re funny or original when they post the obligatory Henry “jibe” on every single Redmond discussion.

Redarmy, I assume is a Man u Liverpool fan, or even Pompey. Never does he post positives just negatives about Saints. Sad individual, as for the Henry jibes, Redmond at no time said it himself and so is saddled with the quote by such morons

Agree on both the bar being low and him being our best player so far this season.

Ppl say Long does nothing but run around like a headless chicken all game, well this is kind of all Redmond does, He also has 0 assists, 0 key passes per game, 0 goals, 0 shots on targets... a mere 7 % cross accuracy in 270 mins game time.

Sorry, in your opinion yes maybe.

But I don't think he is in my opinion and if he is going to be a key member of the team this season, then we are in for a very very long season indeed with very little goals being scored.

Saints best player? OK.

Due a song surely. Been here two and a bit seasons now, clearly the negativity around him was affecting him last year as Hughes has alluded to several times recently. If he responds positively to support then would be great if we could sing about him. As I'm lacking anything original then the old 'Yannick Bolasie runs down the wing for me' song would be a good fit (especially now he does seem to want to actually run down the wing!) if there isn't anything better. Very impressed by his improvement so far this season.

Agreed. Impact sub at its very best.

Looked so simple (knocking it past his man & crossing it) but it's exactly what we've needed.

And I think a lot of the negativity around him has been exactly because he has been so reluctant to do that kind of thing in the past. Hughes seems to be encouraging him to be more direct, hopefully we see an upturn in form from him.

Agreed, much more used to seeing that sort of simple shift, acceleration and cross from Tadic over the last few years. If Redmond switches the balance of his game away from safety first and does more of that then he'll be an important player for us this year. God knows we need someone to step up and take responsibility for making chances rather than hoping time after time that another delayed, booming cross from Cedric will somehow find the one Saints head in the box.
