Brighton away - best away pubs?

If you are in Lewes then try the Harvey's pub - John Harvey's tavern, just opposite to Harvey's brewery shop, about 5 mins from the train station. however they serve Harvey's best bitter at the Amex, when I was there for the Caracao Cup earlier this season it was a good pint - quite unusual for a football ground.

If you're drinking then ignore the suggestions to drive there and back. Brighton's got much better options then Lewes anyway, loads of great little victorian boozers.

Not sure about 'away' pubs, but if you're after a half decent pint in a half decent old pub then the St James Tavern and the Park Cresent were both ones that I've been to before and enjoyed, and the Battle of Trafalgar near the Station. The Park Cresent also does the best Sunday lunch I've had anywhere.

The Great Eastern, The Basket Makers Arms, The Pond in the Lanes were all good as well. Although it's about 5 years since I went to these establishments.

All good suggestions

About 7 of us are going to the Battle of Trafalgar

Where’s the best Real ale. Went last season but as it was an early Sunday kick off, confined ourselves to the Wetherspoons.

Going up on Friday with the snap dragon (thinking I was planning ahead) but she’s just announced “if you think I’m traipsing around Brighton Friday night to check out pubs for your sad mates, you’re very much mistaken “. ****ing women......
