I knew England had played a few games away from Wembley recently but had realised this would be their first 'competitive ' home game away from Wembley since 2006, would be good recognition for the club if we get this when you think of all the other venues that could have been chosen. If they price it right should comfortably sell out although bound to be the skate muppet with the bell there again.

Excellent. Remember the Macedonia game well, 2-2 and Smith got sent off at the end (as he was for Leeds 2 years later at SMS). Entertaining game but frustrating result.

Hope the seat Westwood was in got a good deep clean or was replaced afterwards. Still, at least he waited until the League Cup game to have a tinkle on it, banning him for the 3-0 home league win 'ding dong, ding dong, where's your bell gone' as we sang in Northam.

Can see the Portsmouth News taking serious umbrage at the 'hometown' line in that Echo article though about JWP!

Well that will result in some much needed painting and decorating as well as new seats etc !

Always surprised the club haven't bothered to do this after years of the mouldy / graffiti covered tunnel / stairs leading to the ground from the train bridge entrance

Noice.

You'd think they'd have gone for Fratton Park though since they have the best fans in the world and now a new major trophy to showcase to the opposition PR.

That would be like a home game for Kosovo to be fair, they’re used to playing in a war torn **** hole.
