Bit weird that Hoedt is playing considering we're trying to get rid.

Unless we've invited scouts to come watch him.

That'll probably scare them off then!

Tom O'Connor on the bench - one of our better u23s, I think.

Neat and tidy, lovely left peg, could potentially be a modern ball-playing holding midfielder.

He's a decent prospect but not sure he's quite prem standard. Deserves a chance though.

Yeah, hes always looked cool, calm and composed for the under 23s. Got a great left foot on him too!

    Slattery still in the dog-house.

Good to see Reed & Johnson back around.

Really fast start, couple of corners and about four shots on target. Just scored in the 11th min.

How are you watching and if you're using their site... Which sub did you go for? Cheers

Joke, though it sounds like their scorer had all the time in the world to pick out his shot.

    Saints Twitter:

Bodin finds space in the box before curling an unstoppable left-footed effort beyond the reach of @AngusGunn01.

    Preston live text ;

"Billy Bodin recieves the ball down the right wing, dances through three Southampton defenders and rifles the ball into the far top corner!"

Presumably 2 of the 3 were Stephens and Hoedt.

Stephens doing what all good defenders do and showing the striker on the outside...whoops.

Do Stephens and Hoedt get worse with each appearance?

Suppose the myth that Hughes made them worse is now gone. Neither of them should be anywhere near a Premier League team.

He's much better than Stones or Maguire.

Saints twitter feed showing the goal. That was appalling defending at a basic level..

2-1, Ings. Great cross from Bertrand.

Saints goal was a complete gift.
Nice movement by preston’s Bodin but then it was the useless hoedt he breezed past.

    HT.

We've pressed well when we've been out of possession and should really be a few more ahead. Unfortunately the defensive trio look full of mistakes, JB was lucky prior to our first goal with a poor header back to Gunn which a PNE player intercepted before hitting the side netting.

Anyone that says Hoedt or Stephens are good enough, are odd.

So we're playing 3 CBs and 2 wingbacks? Not the 4-2-2-2 we played in the opener?

Nice day here at Deepdale, I think we're doing ok seeing as it's a mix of regulars, fringe and shop window players. Looking forward to the 2nd half.

3-4-3 looks to be the formation.

Hoedt and Stephens at fault for their goal. Cedric has put in some good crosses; Bertrand good going forward too. Opposition very poor.
