England scouts urged to check Augsburg whizkid Kevin Danso

The 18 year-old midfielder made his Bundesliga debut for the 1-1 draw with RB Leipzig last weekend.

An Austria youth international, Danso learned his football in England - in the same system as Tottenham star Dele Alli.

He told BILD: "I was born in Austria, but grew up in England.

"When I was six years old my parents moved to Milton Keynes. It's about an hour from London.

"I started playing football in England. I played at the MK Dons from the U9 onwards.

"At the age of 16 I went to Augsburg alone and went to the football school. It was the right decision that I went to Augsburg . Here I was promoted. "

He’s retained an eye for goal – finding equalisers against Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Dortmund this term – but it’s at the back where he now does his best work. Batshuayi had enjoyed a hand in a goal every 67 minutes at BVB prior to running into Danso on Matchday 24. Danso won 70 percent of his challenges against the big Belgian at the Signal Iduna Park. Oh, that goal against Leverkusen also made him the club’s youngest scorer at 19 years and 46 days of age.
    Nice!

Never seen Danso play but I signed him for Saints on Fifa and he was pretty good! Young, strong and pacey. No idea what he's like in real life but in Ralph we trust.

Pace again! A bit raw perhaps but it does sound like a Ralph sort of signing if true.

Fair play to saints for this one if it comes off. Makes it a good window and at least we've given it a go.

OOOOH WE GOT KEVIN DANSO, I DONT KNOW WHO HE IS, I WISH WE HAD A PLAYER, WHO'S NAME WAS MATT LE TISS

Very happy with the sound of him, Bundesliga fans I know don't think he'll be cheap. Really hope we can get this across the line and we've just fallen a DM short of a brilliant window. This makes it a good one.

I just meant the idea that there's 'no value' in the market. There's always value if your scouting is good enough - and so hopefully this last minute signing will prove!

you don't think Austin was on fortune here? West Ham shirked at £100k a week. A tiny transfer fee meant he'd have been on a massive wages. Or did you mean that we probably had to pay him a massive pay off to leave and earn less at WBA, thus reducing the saving we made by offloading him?

    Some have suggested that...

Sounds like we've managed to give the Black Box a decent technical tap this summer.

Well, this is a surprise...! He wasn't on my radar as someone we could sign, but he looks like the right sort.

I imagine at this late stage, it's prob a loan?

You do realise we have been tracking him for many years, the fact that Ralph is Austrian is pure coincidence.

Hope it's not a Toby type of loan then, with only a loose option to buy.

    Like we did with Carrillo

No doubt he’s in our database and some grunt has assembled a bit video footage, as we’ve probably done with hundreds of players (the costs of ‘following’ a player aren’t prohibitively high). Doesn’t mean he was a serious target.

Indeed, easy to forget that our last accounts still showed a profit of almost £30m. Since then we've lost some big earners, replacing with much lower-profile signings, and player trading has been pretty much cost-neutral.
