Just had a look on their forum. Nearly all their posters bar about 2, think they will win. Are we really that ****?

    1. They don't like us.
    2. Maybe
    3. I think most teams would hope to beat a bottom third team at home. We'd probably be saying the same if we were hosting Newcastle or Palace.

Hoping for our first point. Would be great to see Adams put away a half chance instead of spaffing it like the first two games. Ings is on notice too after that horrendous miss last week. We need to be more clinical. Defenceis a basket case so its essential.

We will go into the game with Jack Stephens playing.

Could be worse, we could and probably will play Vestegaard.

Why would we? We have 5 other centre backs who are better than him, possibly 6 if you include Klarer.

Why did Stephens start at Burnley if he's that far down the pecking order?

Hoedt in limbo, Danso not ready yet, Yoshida - who knows...

Where has Ralph said Stephens will play? He didn't even make the squad last weekend

Danso most usually played on the right side ... at least in the Austrian National team

Great point, except he wasn't even in the squad last week. Good try though.

No, its just they have lots of positive posters unlike this place who have very few

We need to keep rotating the CB until Ralph knows his best 2/3 CB. Of course, pre-season games were the best time to have done this.

Any thoughts on how he might have integrated Danso pre-season?

well said that fan........its going to be a bloody boring 1-1 we score first then they get a late goal 80 min and its panic button nearly self distruct deffending in front of a now bouant fans ...whistle goes

I think we get it rolling this week. BHA is not that good, and hopefully Ralph has lit a fire under our bottoms. Saints 3-1, Che and Redmond score.

Danso, I grant you, would be an add-in. Maybe if he had closely assessed the existing cast, he may have found an ideal partnership already there. We seem to be rotating match by match now, so assume Hoedt must be next name out of the tombola? That's not criticism. I'd like to see where his head (and feet) is at currently.

Too many people are blaming Valery. Goals on Sunday analysed the two Liverpool goals. JWP was the real culprit for the first. He was tracking Milner but in a reincarnation of Davis he waved his arm at Valery who was in his correct position to now pick up Milner and just let him go. If he had got tight on Milner and stayed there that goal would probably not have happened. Incidently Redmond stood ten yards out and just stood and watched all through the move and Hojbjerg also stood on his heels and failed to react until too late. Bednarek was also at fault, again too late to react.

For the second goal, Valery took up his wingback position, Bednarek threw the ball back to Yoshida who not for the first time dithered and underhit a pass back to Bednarek who promptly slipped and gave the ball to Liverpool. Yoshida at fault for not immediately clearing.

IMHO, Vestergaard is slow and substandard, Stephens ball watches and is poor in the air, Bednarek lacks pace but is otherwise decent, Yoshida has it all but is prone to stupidity as above or passing to the opposition after dithering, Hoedt is physical, not as good as he thinks he is and makes silly errors. If I was to pick a team I would ditch the three centre backs and play two from Bednarek, Danso or Yoshida with Valery and Bertrand in a back four and revert to 4-2-2-2.

It will be interesting to see what we do as it looks like Brighton are reported to be playing 3-4-3.

That bastard. Most of the time he underestimates us and predicts we'll lose or jinxes us by predicting we'll win.

3-1 Saints in memory of a man who passed away this week who took me to my first ever game at the Dell and introduced this journey my family now follow:

    Gunn
    Valery
    Ganso
    Bednerak
    Bertrand
    Romeu
    Hoj (c)
    Djenepo
    Redmond
    Ings
    Adam's

    4-2-2-2

    Subs:

    Alex
    Yoshida
    JWP
    Long
    Armstrong
    Obafemi

Agree with above, surely the 4-2-2-2 is coming out today finally, catch them by surprise. Danso got to start, i’d probably put Yoshida alongside him but him or Bednarek i’d be happy with. I’d also take out Ings and push Redmond alongside Adams with Jwp in alongside Djenepo to add a bit more discipline, would also mean moving to a 4-3-3 would be very easy if needed.

Confident here. Brighton are v poor

How many Brighton players would get in our first 11?

Bit nervous about this one. Only seen highlights, but Brighton have looked a lot better in their first two games this season than the dire team they were in March/April. Important to get some points on the board but have a feeling we’ll be frustrated again come 5pm.

Definitely 4, possibly as many as between 5 and 8.

Ryan, Dunk, Montoya, and Maupay are all better than what we have in their position. Dale Stephens and Murray are about as effective as Romeu and Ings. Trossard and Gross both look about as effective as our attacking midfield options, too.

I think the only positions we have a definite advantage in are left back (when Bertrand can be bothered to track back) and maybe Hojbjerg's spot in box-to-box midfield.

Close down Murray and he'll get a cob on then a red card. Dunk? It's what I do with biscuits! My only reservation today is we have that Pillock (not our) Friend in the middle. Still trying to find out if we have ever won a match with him in charge. We could possibly gain our first point today and with a bit of luck all three.

Yoshi isn't the player I'd have dropped but looks a decent team to me. Good to see we have enough depth to leave Stephens and Long out of the 18.

But not enough depth to field a left back.

Absolute mess of a team and a squad.

Who is the left back then!
Is it a back 3 with JWP at left back or a back 4 with say Danso or Bednarek at left back?

However I am slightly confident for some reason, Brighton look like they have average names but come 5pm this’ll all perhaps change.
