The lowest rated five Premier League players in every position this season

So this was in another thread thought it was worth one of its own.

So players rated in each position on their performances this season based on whoscored stats. Even taking into account stats can be interpreted in different ways its pretty damning stuff. (note this was after the first nine games so doesn't include the St Mary's massacre).

In the list saints players include

Gunn - 3rd worst keeper in the league

Yan Valery - 5th worst RB in the league

Yoshida - 2nd worse CB in the league

Bertrand - worst LB in the league (yes really)

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg - 5th worst central midfielder in the league

Che Adams - 4th worst striker in the league

So, it’s not surprising. Teams near the bottom will generally have the worst players.

We all knew Gunn is in poor form. Utterly weird that Ralph continues to pick him

Some of us knew Valery was/is way over hyped. No where near as good as some believed. Lived off a couple of decent games for too long

Gunn is much younger than McCarthy and isn't it the club's policy to put as many young players as possible in the team/shop window? It's probably a policy Ralph had to agree to when he was first interviewed for the job.

If that is our policy, then we deserve to finish bottom

Worth noting that two of the "worst" right midfielders scored hat-tricks on the weekend.

Obviously, they may have to put 1 or 2 older players in now to try to avoid relegation, which apart from selling players for profit, is the club's other main aim.
