Guess you missed the portion of my post where I said these were issues relevant to myself and where I said they were just the few off the top of my head (and where I highlighted the excessive spending as the bit that was particularly extreme) you numpty.

I didn't miss those bits or this bit 'I can't be bothered to look in greater detail to find more', but you can be bothered to shout marxist and extremist. Like I said you shout a lot but are a self confessed know **** all.

Donald tells us that he wouldn’t want the NHS even if it were handed it to him on a silver plater. Somehow you just know the opposite is true. That’s the beauty of listening to congenital liars. Listened to what they say and what they actually mean is the exact opposite.

Case in point:

John McDonnell is a self confessed Marxist so it's not my words it's his and I've outlined clearly why I consider their policies to be extreme. Seems to me that either you know very little yourself or you're just an angry little socialist raging against the dying of the light.

"The government would “walk away” rather than sign up to an agreement that put the health service at risk, he said."

Yeah, sure. Of course Dom. Whatever you say.

In a post-Brexit trade deal negotiation with the US, do you honestly expect us to believe that your party would simply walk away if the Americans insist, as they surely will, on market access to the NHS as a deal-breaker?

Oh look, an article by the Russian spymaster owned Not Independent stating that any independent company is able to increase prices on anything it sells if it wants to. Bloody capitalists!

I certainly would expect that. I gather that you wouldn't, so our opinions differ. There is absolutely no evidence to support your stance, so we'll have to wait and see, instead of scare-mongering, eh?

Good to see you keeping the cross of St George flying. Why do you feel it necessary to abuse people who don’t share your extreme politics all of the time? Give me an “angry little socialist” over a nasty alt right racist any day of the week.

It's a bit rich of someone like you to harp on about abusing people considering the many many false labels you continually attach to people and derogatory names you use.

I was accused of knowing "f*ck all." Something as rude as that is hardly going to prompt a polite retort is it, particularly when I gave an opinion. You don't have to necessarily agree that it makes Corbyn extreme, but it's hardly worthy of insults simply because you don't share that opinion. If the Channel 4 focus group from last night is anything to go by then it seems that many former Labour voters are more closely aligned with my opinion on Corbyn than the likes of Fan the flames. Maybe they know "f*ck all" as well but an attitude like that certainly isn't going to win Labour a majority.

Of course you would. Because anything else would be a tacit acknowledgement that Brexit isn't this wonderful, rosy, amazing fantasy-land that you are so convinced it will be.

The whole f*cking point of Brexit is so we can go and do our own trade deals with the US etc... Do you honestly reckon a Tory government would just abandon that completely when (not if) the Trump administration tries to pull our pants down over the NHS?

Honestly?

If the genuine answer to that is yes, then I've got some magic beans you might be interested in buying.

You just don't get this negotiation thing, do you? Trade deals cover numerous different sectors and product ranges. One side indicates a desire to adopt a stance on a particular sector and the other side counters with their response to it. When you ask whether the UK government would abandon trade talks with the USA over access to the NHS, the question needs to be put the other way around. Would the USA abandon talks with the UK over that? No. Of course they wouldn't. A trade deal would be mutually beneficial, so our taking NHS access off the table would not be a trade deal killer.

All of which assumes we will be in a stronger negotiating position than the US.

Which we won't.

What is it about Les and Tuesdays? Did the Cure write a song about them?

The government’s own analysis has estimated that a US free trade agreement would increase UK GDP by only 0.2% after 15 years, a small fraction of the 2 to 8% costs of Brexit during that time.

Either way if the UK is taking things off the table, it will just mean less access for UK businesses to the US market -making it even more ludicrous to think that a deal can begin to compensate for any fall in UK-EU trade.

Of course the NHS is on the table. Talk to people who work for the NHS and they will tell you that bits are gradually being hived off and it is dismantled bit by bit. I saw the same thing happening with the CJS. The Probation service has been outsourced and is a total mess. Vote in a Tory Government with a working majority and you can wave goodbye to an NHS free at the point of entry within the foreseeable future.

It's only "free" to those who don't pay tax or contribute to government coffers. Otherwise it is a pre-paid service...

Oh look, an article by the Russian spymaster owned Not Independent stating that any independent company is able to increase prices on anything it sells if it wants to. Bloody capitalists!

I think the point of that one has gone over your head a little there. Just out of interest though, which news sources do you think are impartial and should be listened to?

https://mediabiasfactcheck.com/the-independent/

The factual content of The Independent is rated as "High", the same as The Times and The Guardian. The Telegraph, however, is rated notably lower and the Daily Mail is rated as low and is flagged as a questionable news source. The FT has the same high factual rating, but is least biased.

Of TV news sources They are all rated as high, with C4 furthest to the left, BBC and ITN about even as centre left and right and Sky News the least biased.

So, where is everyone here going for "the facts"?

It would be interesting to know. My first stop is the BBC, but I do notice the centre left bias, which is most strong when they discuss US politics. I can understand why right wing voters resent paying for it.

I see that Diane "West Indian mums will go to the wall for their children" Abbott's son has been charged with biting a police officer and also fired from his lucrative job at the Rome embassy in June. Obviously first class parenting there.

The question is, are mediabiasfactcheck unbiased themselves? They are making a critical decision on media sources based on their own opinions. Who judges the judges?

The Oozlum Bird of arguments.

Perhaps we should all just refer to the Bible, and rely on the unadulterated word of God for everything.

I’ve heard that one at every General Election in the last 40 years.

It doesn’t mean to say that it isn’t going to be right at some point. There is no great love in the Tory party for the NHS and now you have people in place who have no qualms about what they do. The fact that discussion have already taken place with pharma companies in the US should be enough to ring alarm bells in the Tory faithful.

When the Torys win next week.

What is the timeline for the destruction/sale/closing down of the NHS

It will have to be within 5 years.

Anyone have an idea?

No idea pal, though happy to bet that there will be another Brexit crisis before then -despite it being “oven-ready” and “done”.

Boris playing an absolute blinder...

That makes selling at $1.22 at the beginning of September even more satisfying pal. Given the pound was much higher as recently as March, there’s still room to run. The higher, the better as far as I’m concerned as I’m already looking forward to the next opportunity to bet against the pound. Next year should provide plenty of catalysts as the UK lurches from one Brexit cliff-edge to the next.

That second graph in particular shows how easy it is to distort things by picking an entirely inappropriate axis. 1.173 climbing to 1.176 against a y-axis starting at zero wouldn't look much at all.

Soggy, Bexy or any others who keep predicting the imminent end to the NHS when the Torys won next week?

Maybe a deluded little Englander shuffling around my allotment thinking dark thoughts like a bumpkin Colonel Kurtz? Any tips on how I’d cope pal?

Next time I want someone to make me a 3.7% return on my money, I'll give you a call, pal...

I thought that was what you were now. It's not for me to advise you on how to cope. I'm coming back as a super smug, arrogant, know it all remoaner, so in all honesty you would be best advised to ignore my advice, as I do yours currently.

Here's a funny story from "Money and Power: How Goldman Sachs Came to Rule the World"

Goldman's chief economist in London, Gavyn Davies, came by the proprietary trading desk to offer his macroeconomic view of the world. One trader cut Davies off and "with his boots on the desk," told him, "With all due respect, Gavyn, I do my own research. I was in quite a few bars in Spain last weekend and let me tell you something - they were empty." He followed this bit of trenchant analysis with another: "I've got another rule that I live by: "If you can't drink the water, sell the currency.""

Another ‘no idea’

Interesting, considering you are certain it will happen

No, not certain but believe it is a very strong possibility. As for a date, there will be much dittering and delays involved in the so called oven ready Brexit deal so who knows. But you seem to think that it is going to happen in one go (much as you have swallowed the Get Brexit Done mantra). It will go in bits and pieces as is already happening if you bother to listen to people within the NHS.
