Sajid Javid is now stated to have 'misremembered' official statistics on homelessness when trying to score a political point.

The problem with this, as with the 'punch' in Leeds earlier today, is that social media will swiftly spread such falsehoods as 'fact', and the parties deliberately play on this knowing that their 'ultras' will swallow it hook, line, and sinker.

I'm sure that pretending all dissenting voices aren't real people makes it easier to cope with being a fanatical corbyn supporter but unfortunately you can't use that sort of deflection with the vote on Thursday. We will see how many people think like me and will reject the Corbyn McDonnell project.

Thanks Vladimir but you can't vote.

Too little too late. She has now become the story herself.

In her tweet she refers to two senior Tory sources. It's her job to report their names if they are deliberately spreading falsehoods and using senior BBC 'journalists' as a conduit to smear opponents. That's the public interest story now.

Not sure she's biased per se. Just think she's not very bright or seemingly very nice - she's a political generalist with neither an eye for policy detail nor a grasp of the big picture (Katya Adler's much better). Her bread and butter rather is access which always comes with a price: throw in an unpleasant competitive streak and you have someone who's a sitting duck to be manipulated.

Into the arms of Boris. Fcking hell

Yes, this election is about voting for the least sh*te party.

Positives for Boris getting in - Brexit goes through and hopefully Labour see the back of Corbyn and his cronies.

Positives of Corbyn getting in - can’t think of anything.

I’m voted Labour all my life and have even been a member of the Labour Party.

I stopped voted for them, when, thanks to that idiot Ed Milliband, the Party was taken over by Momentum and a load of left-wing idiots. Corbyn, McDonnell, Abbott and Thornberry are a manifestation of that.

I cannot vote for Corbyn and his politics. I voted for Brexit and the shenanigans of Brexit frustration in Parliament has led me into the arms of Boris. Hopefully, a defeat will make Labour look at themselves, get rid of Momentum, Corbyn and his idiot mates. Someone like Dan Jarvis could regain the centre-ground and get lifelong voters like me back.

Which is ironic seeing as Boris and his "journalism" days (years of disinformation about how the EU actually works) are a huge reason why many people voted Brexit in the first place.

Positives of a hung parliament. Brexit deal put to a confirmatory referendum with Remain result.

Another election on the basis of real policies, not just Brexit.

Johnson self-destructs.

Jonnyboy seems nervous.

You mean that my kids classes will continue to get larger and have less staff? Yes.

You mean that getting a GPs appointment will stay like finding a needle in a haystack? Yes.

You mean that the air pollution in Southampton will continue to be some of the worst in Europe? Yes.

I could go on but your reply will just be more of the condescending, smirking spam so beloved by your side of the privileged political spectrum.

Probably because he didn’t want to play his stupid game.

Brendan right on the money again.

My snap dragon is a band 7 and a raving soft arsed leftie, and even she thinks this is fishy. Claims there’s no way they wouldn’t have found a trolley or chair and there’s no way the kid had pneumonia. Wouldn’t surprise me if the parents were pinkos or lefties.

I think the report from the hospital management confirming the unfortunate truth of the story kicks this theory into touch.

Not so quick with the "witty" robot remarks there lad. I've clearly touched a nerve.

All in all, I'd say the Tories, and especially their accident-prone leader, are having an absolute mare today. False allegations, jibbering interview, refusal to show compassion, theft of a phone, falsifying yet more data.

Always going to be a problem eventually if you let Johnson too far from his minders and let people insist on asking questions. Once auto-bot Get Brexit Done mode starts to hiccup trouble looms.

Shame Corbyn hasn't really exploited it.

Why the Corbyn caveat? He's only one man. I'm sure his team would love to "exploit" it (very Tory word) but it's tough when head of BBC politics is on Johnson's team's speed dial.

It's all a media conspiracy. Will you be justifying more violence on Friday if antifa take out their frustrations on the public?

You're right, but it was Jez making the big set-piece speech in Bristol who had the big chance.

I was amazed that the BBC actually covered the NHS story and even mentioned the bizarre theft.

Possibly the threat to withdraw the licence fee and signs that it's in advanced planning will make the Beeb think they've no longer got anything to lose.

If they turn against the Tories in the next few days, could be interesting.

Yes, it's completely unreasonable to expect little old Jeremy Corbyn to lead the opposition against the current government.

Do you think the BBC are pro brexit?

I'd say they're pro-Tory (or allowing themselves to be manipulated by the Tories) which, given the prominence of Brexit in their campaign means they are by default probably pro-Brexit.

Anyone else finding it hard to know who to believe about anything right now?990b08b9ba19d0d891e0f570c86ff819.jpg

Yes, but I would take the word of the Yorkshire Evening Post journalist who originally reported this story over "my mate reckons it's fake" any day...

https://twitter.com/DSheridanYEP/status/1204140106736656384?s=19

The boy's mum has not in any way "slagged off" the hospital staff as this woman is claiming, and the hospital has admitted there was no bed for him and apologised.

Fair point, although I would venture things have got really weird when journalists are cited as the bastions of truth... ;)

Disagree. It's not a binary choice.
